The Gators have held the mental edge over us for 10 or so years now. It’s evident every time we play. Overall we just kind of **** down our leg when we play them. I thought the overall game was close, but we walked 5 and hit 4…they walked 1 and Struck out 10+. We didn’t really pressure them after the early innings. We just seem to chase the game when we play them

Minus the walks towards the latter innings the pitching did their job for the most part. Without the errors at the end there its a 5-2 ballgame against a top team. We need to have more at bats like the first two innings where we applied pressure.

It has more to do with the opportunity to play for championships and get drafted, but we can go with the scholarship excuse again this year.

As I said, against a team like this you have to continue to pile pressure. After we went down 3-2 it seemed like we got deflated and it showed in the at bats minus a couple of guys

What’s Vanderbilt’s excuse as a private school?

They have so much money their players were getting non athletic scholarships on top of their
partial athletic scholarships. It made it an advantage for them as they could cover the full cost of attendance even though state schools were much cheaper, but couldn't cover the full cost.

This is not the correct answer. No matter where the money came from, a team could still only give 11.7 scholarships.
