Yes. He’s just not very good at hiring and has not evaluated players well enough to cover that up consistently (or vice versa)

Steele wanted to leave. he hated alot of the kids we had and at his age didnt want to recruit hard.
 
Defense has no identity, at least be able to to something.
We can’t do anything and the problem is it’s getting worse every game.

Not sure why we didn’t adjust after everyone including us knew they were running on every play, and if they did pass it was a joke.
Should have put eight or nine in the box and stopped the run and protected the edges.

This unit does not create turnovers, they play passively. Nobody is flying to the ball, nobody is disruptive on the DL.
The scheme that Guidry is running is not working here, time for a change.

You're not the only one and I don't blame you for it.

But I cautioned everyone all off-season long that Dawson actually had the better unit last year. He just had a turnover machine at quarterback. Which, at the end of the day, if you're the OC, you're responsible for how the offense plays. Period. But the offensive numbers >> the defensive numbers. A lot of people just refused to believe that all off-season because TVD clouded everyone's judgement. Plus both units were so much better than 2022, we chose to ignore evidence.

Can you imagine what he'd do with better talent? Although I'm starting to question how much better our talent actually is on D...

Here’s the problem, it might look like we haven’t made adjustments this season, but we’re in a tough spot when Kiko can’t tackle all season. How do you change that? Or Harris missing god knows how many tackles and getting lost in space. What’s gonna change that? Or Powell being the same way. How do you change that? Or Baron and Bain getting manhandled on the line over and over. How do you change that? These are grown men, we shouldn’t have to coddle them and teach them how to make a simple tackle. The defense is mentally checked out and don’t play physical what so ever. With all this NIL and transfer portal, it’s extremely hard to keep kids motivated. Which is why I expect there to be a lot more losses like this across college football. I’m not defending Guidry, because he leaves me scratching my head a lot. But there is a lot more issues than just scheme
 
Some of this is scheme and some is personnel. I solely blame Guidry on the 10 minute drive. We finally got them into 3rd and long and everyone under the sun new the only way they convert is on a QB run. So what does Guidry do? He runs a stupid stunt with Baron that totally opens up the right side of the field. The QB, with a bum ankle, was able to run for 10 yards before anyone got close to him. He got the first down and that stupid drive continued and they eventually score. All Guidry had to do was play disciplined football and we would have either sacked him or forced him into a bad throw. Instead he opens up heaven's gate for the offense making it easier then pie to get the first. That right there is inexcusable.

Everybody was saying that. I don't remember anybody here saying he sucked.
