G. Paul

Didn't he lead the team in tackles one game? he can't cover his own mouth, but he provides solid depth specially on obvious rushing downs.

I don't get the hate for Paul

He may not be starting caliber, but in a normal rotation with proper depth I think he can be a solid backup to Kirby

[I[/I]

In a normal situation Paul would be a redshirt freshman right now, playing exclusively on ST's. Instead because of terrible roster management by the previous staff he's a sophmore being expected to play more than he was ready for.

If he is not Dan Morgan, then get the **** out.

Of course, the kid is a 2011 recruit and he has time. I don't see why he can't be that quality depth that we need.

Against the run, #36 is pretty stout. Pass coverage is where he is a liability, just like the rest of the LBs. We need backup LBs and STs guys. Nothing wrong with that.

I believe Kirby played only one play when Gaines helmet came off. If this is the rotation right now, I think we are better with Gaines outside and Perryman in the middle. Coaches obviously disagree.

Haven't been on the board since Friday and was going to post about Paul, since I didn't see him at all on Saturday.

IMO, he probably got suspended, because I happened to bump into him yesterday and he didn't look injured.

Paul and Cain are two guys that should be playing FCS.

Paul was a legitimate D1, BCS conference recruit. Was an Arizona State commitment. Had a legitimate Louisville and Tennessee offer. LSU had high interest in him, but only took one linebacker in 2011 (landed a Top 10 linebacker prospect).

Thrown into the fire a little early and been injured a bit...but not an FCS quality player.

Paul's obviously a little green, and the knee held him back a bit, but he's starting to show good play vs the run at MIKE, which is where we do need some help.

Perryman
Johnson
Kirby
Paul
#6 (please)
Gaines
Terry
Blue
Armbrister
Cornileus
Any other fish (Grace, Moore, etc.)

That position is starting to look how a Miami roster should.

I agree with Larry. This kid is still young, maybe not a beast but def a kid we need as "quality" depth.

Yeah. LB is close especially if we get Thomas and Grace. I like the way CB is shaping up but those guys are obviously really young. DE is still scary. DT has numbers but no one has stepped up yet although its extremely difficult for young players to show out at that position. We could have something at S with Bush, Jenkins, Carter, Burns but again painfully young, we get nothign from our upperclassman there and almost every other position on the D.

I agree. I think in many ways the "hate for Paul" thing is due to Golden.... I guess most of us thought he was going to tear some stuff up after hearing Golden talk about him.

I don't like this screenname!

Was going back to see the class that Paul was in, and saw Anotnio Kinard, anyone know what happened to him?

Jawand Blue (who already looks bigger than Eddie Johnson) will be a force next year.
