Future of Bowls

Those who have been alive a lot longer than I have tell me that bowl games used to be glorified exhibition games at the end of the season. That changed somewhere along the way, probably back in the 70’s. But now, with the playoff, any bowl game outside the playoff is just an exhibition game again. Full circle.

So the juniors and seniors on 100 teams every year know they won’t be allowed to play in a bowl game and you’re fine with that? You’ll be having guys quit when the team is 4-6 instead of playing hard for bowl eligibility.

Did you forget about all of them bc you only care about the 30 teams (probably less) who have a shot to make the playoff?
 
This would do nothing for attendance or views on television.

Nobody is tuning into watch names they don't know unless they're basically those who login here.

There's still some semblance of wanting to win the game for most schools. Do as you suggest, then it becomes even more meaningless.

Advertisers would pay even less as they realize nobody is attending or watching. That's who pays the bills, not butts in seats for these things.

participation trophy mindset. Not everyone deserves a bowl gamel We got too many teams 6-6 getting bids. For what?
Nah, every college does their own “Senior Day” -Thats their last game if the suck.

I’m convinced most of you don’t even like college football and you definitely don’t watch any other games outside of Miami ones. Wanting less games is something only people who don’t like the sport say.

As much of a joke that I thought the pop tart bowl premise was , Iowa St looked happy to win it...
A win is a win....
