Future 50 Updates

That's a long-standing tradition here on CIS, changing a kids position. That will not change :ROFLMAO:
To be fair, a lot of kids that go on to play on the interior in college start out at OT in HS.

If Kinsler and Kirkland come here also, should we just keep them at OT for the sake of “not changing their position”?

I don't know! Coaches cross train OLinemen. That gives them the opportunity to evaluate if they are better suited for Guard or Tackle. Not CIS members.

Great to see Francis doing well in drills. Alinen may not be as polished as Francis at this stage but his frame is certainly intriguing. With some additional development, he could be a beast. Riley will be a stud in college. Great height & wingspan combined with the ability to separate from the defender. If he works really hard the next couple of years, he'll be an absolute menace for opposing defenses. Go Canes!

Don’t put too much stock in these drills with all that **** space. Unfortunately for a lot of these Dlinemen they don’t have any 1 OL formations once the pads go on

Oh, I don't. I know just a little about OL play. lol

I hear you and don't mean to sound condescending or whatever with that comment. Everyone gets beat, it happens, and all of these moments are teachable moments.

I'd teach it mostly with what I said. You can't give up ground against longer DL players and let them get their hands on you first. He was retreating, waiting for him to make his move. You want to dictate the space, explode into him, get your hands on him, he's got length, you've got weight on him, manage the engagement, force your will, and if you get into him first, you'll come out ahead in most circumstances.

I'm sure he won one or three. They're going to show who was there and a play they looked good on. A clip certainly doesn't tell an entire story.

I’ve been Riley’s Holistic Dietitian/Nutritionist for the past 16 months. Like most young men his age, he will definitely benefit from physical and mental development. However, he doesn’t have a lot of baby fat if any. His body fat ratio is monitored and kept within a specific range. His diet and what he puts in his body is specifically designed based on a holistic approach. This approach is the future for high end athletes.

Because of his diet, where I think Riley will benefit the most is in IMG’s and Miami’s S&C program. He’ll gain quality lean muscle in a very short period of time. His diet won’t change once he’s officially in their S&C programs. What he’ll have is more options to add to what he’s already exposed to.

My avatar is a herb I give my clients like Riley. It looks like Turmeric, but it isn’t. They are cousins, but that herb is native to Indonesia and it’s more potent than Turmeric. The three main benefits of this herb as it pertains to young athletes like Riley is that it increases their appetite drastically and quickly. Naturally makes them hungry af.

Secondly, it clears their bowels consistently which allows them to better absorb all the necessary nutrients and vitamins they are putting in their bodies. For example, training table, shakes, smoothies, supplements and yes those infamous “SEC ****tails”.

Lastly and like Turmeric, it’s great for sore muscles and DRASTICALLY reduces inflammation, but at an accelerated level compared to regular Turmeric. Curcumin is what makes Turmeric so healthy. Turmeric is roughly 49% Curcumin. The herb in my avatar is roughly 71% Curcumin.
Isn’t turmeric and the cousin a root?

IMG is to football what the MLS and overseas academies are to their respective futbol or as we call it soccer teams. Having said that, the overseas programs eventually feed into their teams, kids either make it, are dropped, or are traded or transfered on loan basically. The MLS programs have all kinds of feeder programs, but somehow they maintain eligibility for college if they go that route rather than to their respective MLS team or elsewhere.

All in all, it's train like a pro, but in the US regarding football it's train like a pro who is going to college. There's nothing that says they sign with anything, but it's expected due to the relationship they cultivate early on. These kids aren't locked into anything. It started as am elite tennis academy and expanded from there to multiple sports.

There isn't a better program top to bottom on every aspect of preparation in the entire country. My only qualm with any of it, is as a parent, sometimes just let them be and if they've got the talent it'll work out. ****, you're giving your kid up far earlier in soccer than football in the sense elite soccer players enter the club circuit far earlier.

You miss a lot, got a big *** 11 year old who will play college ball, but my 9 year old is all about soccer and plays literally year round. It's a commitment, they'll both do their thing, but it's a struggle sometimes as a parent as I want them to still be kids. Enjoy these years, life will come fast, but soak it up and don't be in a rush to hurry it up. Man I love these boys, sorry for the rant. Just lost one of my 4 brothers and did the Celebration of Life today. Said yesterday for the first time, I've got 3 brothers, not 4 when asked by my 11 year old.

Very sorry for your loss!

Great stuff, I'm a big believer in curcumin, I take a turmeric extract supplement twice a day (1000mg), it contains 95% total curcuminoids. I used to be a competition bodybuilder and have beaten up my joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments over the years. This supplement alone has greatly reduced inflammation in my body. It's the first supplement I recommend to people complaining of joint and muscle pain. Glad to hear you're working with Riley, if he has a dietitian/nutritionist helping him at this young age he's serious about his football career.

You might not be aware how img is so I'll update you guys. Img has a better s&c & nutrition program than most colleges. There programs were designed by some of the top people in the world and are ran by mainly former NFL people or specialists. It's one of the main draws about img is they prepare you in every aspect for the next level. It's all about development for sports with school much less of an emphasis. If anything that's where I always had my concerns is if that's being neglected because as much time as they spend working out it means you really have to dial in with ur time available for school work.

agreed.

what people may not know is that the format for IMG is modeled after the Ski Academies like Burke Academy in Vermont, or Waterville Valley Academy, or Stams in Austria which have been around for decades. They are designed as year-round programs for the development of world class skiers, and the programs are brutal, as they effectively are putting kids as young as 12 through athletic development designed to create world cup and olympic atheltes. te schedule starts each morning at 5 a.m. and goes on from there. Dry land, on snow, psych programs, in the gym, nutrition, etc. etc. etc. it's reached the point where now, you can't even hope to participate in the sport in college unless you have been accepted to a ski academy, and succesful there for at lest 3-4 years before you try to get to college. the academic programs are designed to allow the kid to do the minimum necessary for entry to college, and to have a hope of success academically. the classroom rigor is higher than a place like IMG Academy only because a lot of the colleges that are good at the sport aren't places where it is easy to hide academically if you're not prepped.

IMG (at the sports management level) has always had a relationship with world cup athletes in the skiing, (going back to the mark mccormack days), so that's where a lot of the template for creation of IMG Academy came from. It wasn't the only source, but you get the idea.
