I was talking to a high school Scout today and we were talking about Duke.

He said that as special as he is at running back, he is scary as a corner. He compared him to Tyrann Mathieu and says that his tenacity and attitude on defense is crazy.

Went on to say he's obviously a more natural running back, but that most people don't realize how good of a corner he is.

Accordind to some AJL and Duke might have been our 2 best cbs behind Howard in last year's class. We need Duke on offense but AJL might grow into a nasty safety.

Jeff Shiver would love this thread.

Duke is needed more on offense than defense.

Was this an NFL scout? Peter I'm not sure if you know how it works, but when do NFL scouts start evaluating prospects. I know baseball it usually starts 9th or 10th grade in the U bevause you can get drafted out of high school. Was never sure how the NFL worked.

If you check out Duke's Junior Highlights there are alot of plays with him playing corner.... He's a beast! In those highlight he looks slimmer than in his senior year, but he still a stud. He tackles in the open field, explodes out of cuts, and makes plays when the ball in in the air.... All things you cant teach!

No it was a high school scout .. does a lot of work in Florida

This was talked about quite a bit last year on the Scout board, you just can't take the ball out of his hands.

Interdasting point...hey Peter, is the staff still looking at AJL at O, or are they open to moving him to D?

AJL has the athleticism to play safety, but the coaches want him at corner. If he does t work out at receiver, he can always switch over. He would have been the fastest of the incoming freshmen and he is well-built

On Grassy a couple years back, I got into a heavy back and forth with someone who was his cousin or friend or something. He insisted that Duke would play Corner in college because his goal was to play in the NFL, and he didn't think he'd be a big enough RB. I mentioned over and over that he was far too natural of a RB, that he'd probably be somewhere between 5' 8" and 5' 9" and, if he could get to 200 pounds or so before it was time for the pros, he'd be better off financially as a RB. Anyway, the point is that Duke, himself, supposedly was adamant about playing Corner. Glad he got over that issue.

The Honey Badger is not that good of a corner so its good that he is at RB.

I'd have to agree.. I don't think the Honey Badger is a pure CB.. He just has a knack for making big-time plays.

I wish we had the players to atleast give the 'Duke on D' idea a shot.. Unfortunately, we kinda need him to be our big play guy on O.. Immediately!

Both ways, *******. Do it!

I recently ran into a friend his brother is an NFL scout and we started talking about DUKE, and he lit up saying he watched Duke in the St playoffs and was very impressed with his ability to stop and start on a dime...his stiff arm is as good as gets at that age...he said Duke reminded him of Chris Johnson with his speed and vision...

People know who Duke is,...soon everyone will. The kid is special
