Not exactly murderer's row. Methinks we ought not buy into the ESPN hype. Are they really good? Probably. Are they top 5? Jury's out.
No team is as good as they look on their best day (which was the ***** against Wake, I guess), and no team is as bad as they look on their worst day (which would be us against K-State, which arguably may now be looking like a much better team than any of us gave them credit for being before the beatdown).
They are about as good as they're gonna be this season with Dumbo and Manuel "sharing the load." By contrast, we are obviously, and at times painfully, young. I mean really, really young. Perhaps historically younger than any Canes football team ever. 8,000 true or redshirt freshmen seeing active duty? We will grow much more before we get them down here next month.
The Semin are really good, really strong and really fast. But they are the Semin. They will have all the intangibles against them when we play - our ignorant youth (not knowing we're not supposed to win), their history of choking, their arrogance, the rivalry factor, Al, Duke and, of course, Headset Guy.
FSU is no juggernaut, and it may take the perfect storm to make it happen, but after yesterday, I'm not betting against us. Not at home, not against them!
