FSU, where TEs go to die

maybe o-leary just isn't as good as hyped? i never understood how he was a high 4-star and even 5-star at one point. the kid is about 6'1, 6'2 tops which is extremely small for a TE. and to top it off he's about a 4.7 guy on his best day. he always looked like an h-back fullback type to me. according to a couple fsu guys he was the worst blocker at te as well, they always subbed him out unless it was strictly pass. short, slow, and one dimensional. he wasn't going to live up to that ranking anywhere he went, he just wasn't that good.

Its exactly why people say 7 on 7's don't mean a ******* thing. O Leary went out there and dominated that **** and got a nice shiny 5 star rating because he did it at Scout events.

Bakas was one of his biggest fanboys. I had never really seen O'Leary play and literally laughed out loud when I saw him out there that small. People made him out to be this unstoppable giant all because he dominated some tiny DBs during a half assed game of sandlot ball.

I was actually a big fan of Kerr for our offense but all he did was block......which he was GREAT at. He did well receiving and playing OT at camps but still, can't imagine he would have had any impact anyway.

This poor guy...

Instant Analysis: Giorgio Newberry switches to TE

Jimbo Fisher confirmed moments ago that Florida State's depth at tight end will be two players deeper than originally expected.

Giorgio Newberry and Shayne Broxsie are both on the move to tight end in time for the start of fall camp Tuesday afternoon.

Newberry is entering his redshirt sophomore year and was expected to be in the rotation -- if not pushing for a starting job -- at defensive end. A standout pass rusher and offensive linemen in high school, Newberry redshirted his first year in Tallahassee and then posted 13 tackles in 13 games a season ago behind future NFL players Bjoern Werner, Brandon Jenkins and Tank Carradine.

Man we *****ed for two full years about Nick O'Leary...

...ended up with 6'6" 250 pound Beau Sandland and 6'4 260 pound Clive Walford as the top 2 TE's on the roster.

Not bad

Not even 6'5 260 Asante Cleveland is out there starting.

O'Leary would look like a walk on next to our te's....check the youngster tandish Dobard doing work in one on one drills every day also....he;s a big kid too atleast 6'4 250

FSU's TE depth makes me think Jimbo left NCAA 14 out for his son to play with and then just ran with whatever roster was left when he got back.
