FSU Series

Gil is an idiot on the bases. Can't execute basic base running fundamentals. As much as I like the guy and I think he's a great player, his base running has killed us too many times. Inexcusable!!!

Compounded in the top of the next inning when Zamora's error puts the leadoff guy on base and ends up scoring. That's a two-run swing because of our errors. Can't complain too much because the defense has been really good all series - including a couple really nice plays by Zamora. But it hurts when back-to-back mistakes cost runs.

Hard to trust our bullpen, but you gotta think our bats are more likely to push some runs across in the final innings right?

PFP, running bases, routine inf/of fielding/throwing have been consistently inconsistent. Fundamentally a flawed team and no way to sugarcoat at this point in season.

There were 3 FSU runs on errors. Add in Gil's base running blunder and that make 4 runs. Should have been a 5-3 series sweep for the Canes.

This team is very good when they’re mentally locked in (first two games this series, last two against GT, and the openers in Chapel Hill and Gainesville), but once they lose focus the wheels quickly come off. They just don’t seem mature enough to handle success.

You would hope after this game that Zamora finally “gets it” defensively. He’s a talented fielder, but not a very good one. Nearing 100 D1 starts he may just be what he is though.
