FSU QB’s: Will it be Brock Glenn or Uiagalei OR both on Sat?

I hope
Got dam that just wow bad? Weird, I got people telling me to worry because it's a rivalry game. This year is going to be different. Mario gonna go for a greater than 47 point differential.
I hope that Mario says a variation of this to the team before the game.

Too low. I want to beat UGA’s 63-3 win over FSU.

66-3… with Mario kicking a field goal with two minutes left and a 63-3 lead. Or, how about a 59-3 lead late fourth, and a touchdown pass from Emory to Lofton. So what if there was only a minute and a half left in the game? FSU shouldn’t have called a time out.

Either. Both. Who ******* cares, it could be Burt Reynolds and we still gonna stomp that ***

lol he was their biggest cheerleader. RIP

Correct. There are 100 qualified passers (Glenn is not one of them since he's played so little), but the worst passer rating in the country is 114.45.

Glenn is 95.29.

He's completing 50% of his passes (horrible), for 5.3 yards per attempt (beyond bad), 2 TDs and 3 INTs. He can't throw, they can't catch, they can't block, and they can't run. Other than that, it's a great offense.

So he’s poised for a career day against our defense!

They’ll come out in the Wildcat formation, and try every trick play in their playbook. We are their Super Bowl.

To be fair, we have only made 1 quarterback look better than he is all year.

- We completely suffocated the gator in Week 1.

- FCS game Week 2

- Shutout against Ball State

- The USF QB had some decent numbers, but nothing crazy. He had a passer rating of 134 against us, which is better than his season average, but would rank 56th in the country for the season. Certainly not Heisman worthy.

- Drones had his 2nd worst passer rating of the season against us. The run game hurt us much more than anything in that game, Drones completed only 58% of his passes for 5.7 yards per attempt. Those are both well below average numbers.

- Shough is a really good player in a really good offense, but he had below season average numbers against us. His passer rating for the season if you remove the Miami game is 162.19. His passer rating against Miami was 142.99. He certainly had a good game and they scored points, but he threw the ball 51 times. Only got 6.7 an attempt. That was his 2nd lowest output of the season, Notre Dame held him to 6.4 an attempt.

- The only really bad one was Mendoza. He had his best passer rating of the season against us, by a significant margin. But it was all on explosives (doesn't make it OK, just saying play to play, we were decent). He only attempted 22 passes, completed 11 (terrible completion percentage obviously), but those 11 completions went for 285 yards. Terrible.

So, yeah, the defense hasn't been good and needs to be a lot better if we're going to win the ACC and a playoff game. But we can stop the "we turn every QB we play into Joe Montana" nonsense. It's simply not true. I will admit it's been frustrating as **** to watch the defense, I'm not defending it in any way. We just gotta be a little more realistic in what we're actually getting. If Brock Glenn or Luke Kromenhawktuah go out there and put up passer ratings of 150+, yeah we got really big problems.

There must be a difference in QB RATING and the QB EFFICIENCY RATING cause Cam is leading the QBR with a 92.3 for QBs that are qualified.
The QBR rating is something only ESPN does and I could be wrong but I do not think they publish the formula. It takes things like the quality of the opposing defense into account, down and distance .... not straight forward at all.

The NCAA passer rating is completely different and very simple looking at Comp %, TD, Int and yards

Looking at how we did statistically compared to the norm vs. other opponents is a better way to examine any football stat fairly.

As you pointed out , QBs have not outperformed against us. I still have hope this D can figure things out and will start playing better. FSU and Duke will help.

Correct.

QBR is NOT the same thing as passer rating.

QBR is on a scale of 1-100. Cam Ward is currently leading the country with a QBR of 92.3.

For the record, ESPN has record of QBR for all players going back to 2004. So, 20 years of data.

Here are the ALL-TIME (past 20 years) QBR marks:

2020 Mac Jones - 96.1 (National Champion, 3rd place Heisman, #15 overall NFL pick)
2023 Jayden Daniels - 95.7 (Heisman Winner, #2 overall NFL pick)
2018 Kyler Murray - 95.4 (Heisman Winner, #1 overall NFL pick)
2019 Joe Burrow - 94.9 (National Champion, Heisman Winner, #1 overall NFL pick)
2019 Tua Tagovailoa - 94.8 (National Champion, Heisman Winner, #5 overall NFL pick)
2011 Russell Wilson - 94.1 (Round 3 NFL pick)
2010 Andrew Luck - 93.8 (2nd place Heisman, #1 overall NFL pick)
2018 Tua Tagovailoa - 93.1 (See above)
2017 Baker Mayfield - 92.3 (Heisman Winner, #1 overall pick)
2024 Cam Ward - 92.3

Not bad company, kid. Keep it up.
