FSU last night

most teams improve over the course of the year if they stay healthy....

Miami most certainly should with all of the young talent gaining experience...

there are many variables that will play out before UM meets FSU....

I think the $EC has come back to the rest of CFB and it is wide open this year....

I said that the SEC domination is over in my ACC thread and was ridiculed 😂😂😂😂

This is what I took away from FSU last night. On offense Winston can make alot of mistakes if he's pressured. Which means his oline osngood but not great like everyone was saying. Oleary ,Greene , and RB is the top 3 recievers. They are very well coached and find the zone pockets perfectly. OKstate had excellent pursuit and tackled very well last night. Also their dline Gave constant pressure. FSU defense is still good but not great. Their secondary is still phenomenal. Andrews and Williams are really good. nfl dbs.they are missing that captin like Joyner. Lbs are good and they hit but there's no Telvin Smith in the lb core. Dline is suspect. I said this a few times and got hammered here a while back. Jernigan was everything. Whenever there was back that hit the hole with force. Ok state was getting 7 yards a pop. I can't wait to see how are guys stack up Monday.

OSU hung in there by getting pressure on Winston and confusing him. It remains to be seen whether our defense is capable of that.

They did it last year. With our defense expected to be much improved and their offense downgrading from last years, I expect better results.
Who other than our most optimistic fans expects our defense to be "much improved"? It's basically the same players + a few freshman playing the same scheme that gave up season high total yards against virtually all of the teams they played last year. Realistically I'm hoping for a modest improvement on D and pinning my hopes to a true freshman QB being able to help us outscore our opponents.

Well the way I see if, even if we only get marginal improvement out of our DL, the rest of the Defense gets an immediate boost. So I do not think its too far fetched to expect us to see a more improved Defense where the DL can keep the OL from getting to the second level. Now granted i'm still taking the wait and see approach to this actually occuring but listening to the camp reports, I'm optimistic. Just my two cents.

Wtf are you talking about the same players???? It's a total different team? Rodgers,Highsmith,Green,Figs,Tyrone,Gilbert,Porter all guys who gave us alot of playing time!!! Not to mention Bush being hurt , Dallas playing offense, Gunter was hurt, burns a freshman , corn was hurt. Carter didn't know the plays. C'mon man! Know your team

Not really. Unfortunately, I just don't see the talent on the field that will allow us to beat those scumbags. FSU is not nearly as good as last year though.

I saw a defense with a lot of talented kids that can be studs, but not much in terms of anyone stepping up as THE guy. The corners are awesome, but that's a position where it's hard to make a consistent impact like Joyner did in the middle of the field or like Smith and Jernigan did on the front seven. I think offenses that can keep them off balance will have success, though I suspect that it will strengthen greatly as the season goes along.

Offensively, Greene is a stud. The slant he caught (a tough ball to catch too) and took to the house showed the kind of player he is. K9 was exactly what I figured that he would be, a big athlete playing RB looking for opportunities to break it big. They really tried to get him on the edge to make it finding a lane easier, but OK state did a great job shooting through to cut him off.

Looks like if you cover Greene than half the battle is won.
Winston seems to only look for Greene or the back flaring out.

One thing I noticed is how fat and slow fsu's o line looked.
We roll out AQM, Kamalu, Chick McCord/Thomas on their asses and those linemen will be grabbing air or jersey's all night long.

Also, Oklahoma State's offense and the majority of their defense, pretty much sucks.
Their pressure came from blitz's which fsu's offensive line had great difficulty with.

That rag arm qb for OSU, and their mediocre skill players did some nice things against FSU.

We roll out elite playmakers like Duke, Coley, Dorsett, Lewis etc., I think we will have fsu's defense on their heels.

I do like our secondary but they will be hung out to dry in this scheme if our DL and LBs do not play better than they did last year. We are largely relying on either the same players from last year or freshman/first time starters at those positions.

Which is fine if rely on new players this is college. Players leave it's nothing new. Texas a&m best player in defense was a true freshman safety he made a huge difference. Ok state defense lost everyone from last year and they hung with Fsu all night. All I'm saying is give our new defense a chance before you judge them. we are not the same team.

LOL, you can't use that line. It takes at least 4 years to get your players up to speed in today's game. Just ask the sunshine pumpers...

FSU had zero running game, Winston had an off night and threw two picks, and they still put 37 on the board.

If the variable is putting pressure on Winston then they have literally nothing to worry about when they play us...
