FSU fans believe they should be ranked ahead or Oregon?

The best thing that can happen for a team like Oregon (and pretty much everyone outside of the SEC) is that the SEC East finishes in a giant cluster**** (5 of 7 already have 2+ losses) and the SEC title game pits a 1 loss LSU/Alabama vs. a 2-3 loss SEC East team, completely taking the luster off the "Win the SEC and you go to the BCS" nonsense we've had the last few years.

I don't care what happens with the polls. FSU beating Clemson is fine with me.
Then we stomp their *** in Tally, then really curb stomp them in the ACCCG.
Beating FSU once in a year has always felt great, but twice?

That's all I want for Christmas.
Who cares about the polls. Whupping that nole *** twice in a season and I'd call that a special year. Right up there with our other 5 special years.

I think we'll beat fsu but IF they beat us and Clemson then they finish undefeated and beat Florida, there is no reason why Oregon should be ahead of them in my opinion. I think ucla is overrated and stanford hasnt been playing well ..pac 12 is becoming weaker as the sseasn goes on imo. I think that may put an undefeated team over oregon

Although most of these teams will lose, maybe even us. Usually only one or two teams go undefeated a year, sometimes no teams do. Somethings gotta give

How are they becoming weaker as the season goes on? The only teams they're losing to are also PAC12 teams. By SEC logic, this just means that their schedule is super tough and their champion deserves to play for the title for running that gauntlet.

As soon as the ducks play a team with a legit DL there done, FSU IMO would play them close. Oregon is what they are a clone Boise that cant win a BCS title. That speed means nada against agood DL. IMO alot of teams can I said caaaaaan beat the ducks this year,Bama,LSU,UGA,FSU,Clemson,Stan,Miami,OSUand maybe more. Itsthe same old stry with Oregon, Offense will get u therebut D wins titles.

The Pac 12 is the best conference top to bottom. The only weak teams are CU and Cal.

I'm exaggerating but they will lose like always

I don't see why everyone so hysterical about where people think they should be ranked after half the season. FSU schedule is about to get real tough. Us, Clemson and UF in Gainesville. They should quit worrying about where they are ranked. I can bet some of the toughest games are the ones everyone expect the ranked teams to steam roll. Who can forget our 2001 squad squeaking by BC in chestnut hill? Golden is gonna keep this team together. FSU is not going undefeated not with dumbo feeding them that they are better than they are.

Oregon is the clear best team in the country imo as far as where they should be ranked is concerned.

W/o the SEC bias, Clemson has more of a stronger case to be #2 over Bama also.

No way in **** FSU should be ahead of Oregon, maybe Ohio State though.

nah mane... right now its Bama all day and maybe clemson.. That Bama secondary is getting better and better..

It's not really saying much that they will lose. How many teams have gone undefeated the last few years? The odds are good that even an elite team like Oregon will drop a game. And if they do drop a game it's probably not going to be a shoot out. So by deduction, if Oregon does drop a game, it's probably going to be one where they play sloppy and don't score as much as they typically do.

Why that leads to SEC fanboys claiming Oregon loses every time they play a good DL is beyond me. I bet most times Bama loses, they lose because their defense gives up more points than usual. Does that mean Bama's defense will struggle against elite offenses? Well of course they would, just like how good offenses will struggle against good defenses. What you're claiming is simply a self evident truth.

I guess we have differing opinions on that. One of their 'powerhouses' just lost to an average utah team at best . To say that the pac 12 is better because of this is exactly why the SEC gets so much bias. They get passes for in conference losses. .why? Isn't it more likely that stanford shouldn't have been ranked as high to begin with?. Utah played ucla close but barely squeaked a win utah state... so if a team like Boston College (who played Florida State well) beats Clemson... is the acc seen as better? No. People would Just call Clemson fraud.

In order for a conference to be strong the heavy weights have to beat the scrubs. (Which the acc does not do )

I still agree with the above poster that top to bottom pac 12 is the best conference and usually their flagship teams take care of the lower and middle teams ,but utah beating stanford didn't help their cause is all I was trying to say. It brought stanford down more than utah up but that's just my opinion.

I hear what your saying but when Oregon loses its because the other D made them play sloppy. That being said when Miami won its titles how good was there Dline? Ok thanks

My point is most of the time a team wins the big one its because of there defense, and its a beautiful thing IMO. I hate the SEC but its a awesome thing to watch a great defense and appreciate it. Last year we had an amazing O but it got us no where this year we have a good D and a good O. Look at VT dudes are winning just off defense and just because they dont do anything on O we are sleeping on them. Forget that Im sleeping on them as is the country but with a D you can beat anyone. Well anyway soon UM will be beastly on D and we will win some titles. Its just to me Oregon is a gimmick and cool uniforms that everyone falls in love with but by the end of the year they never raise the BCS trophy. If you want a real challenge for the SEC UM at its best is capable of demolishing the SEC BS. Oregon will always 9 out of 10 times lose to a SEC power for that given year. I hope it isnt Oregon playing Bama in the BCS game because Bama will anal rape them, hopefully its a team with both and O and D and this year it could be fsu clem or us. I think all 3 top ACC teams this year can play with the big boys in the SEC and there run is soon over.

Here's the amount of points scored by the winning team of the de facto championship game, going back over 20 years:

42

55
21

13
46
23
42

62
24
18
34

Average points scored: 34.48 points. There's only been 2 occasions where the winning team scored less than 20, and 6 occasions where the winning team scored more than 40.

Doesn't look like there's a lot of 10-7 grind out games. Offensives have played a significant part in winning titles.
