Hopefully I can be shot down quickly on this thread posting, but as part of the general offensive ineptitude shown this year, and lack of confidence in the offensive staff, are we to expect much smoke on that side of the ball by ESD? Seems that a large portion of recruiting news lately is defensively focused.

Makes me a bit frustrated that it's zero dark thirty on offense, both recruiting and staffing-wise.

Honestly, not a surprise considering we were pretty much done at TE, QB, OL. Need 1-2 at RB and 2 at WR

Nobody is disputing this terrible offense but this likely has little to do with the offense

In general commitments slow down this time of year as most wait until closer to ESD, focus on playing and finishing their seasons.

A lot of prospects decide to wait with the portal as they don’t want to commit and then ride the line behind a huge portal addition.

Many also wait our NIL opportunities AND we’re going after the big fish on offense which nearly all of them are waiting until ESD

So it’s likely not as dire as the thread makes it seem (at least on the offensive recruiting front)

We’ve had 3 defensive commits with a 4th one possibly as early as tonight.

It is interesting that outside of Sampson and running backs it’s very quiet on the offensive side of the ball.

This is a good point. But outside of the RB options, we have heard almost zero on anyone. If I was Gattis, and wanted to hold onto my job following the season, or even just ensure my security, I would be out recruiting like a maniac to make the claim that talent levels were the issue. I know this is a message board so that very well could be happening, but its odd that the insiders on this board are continuously bringing in new Defensive news, and nothing on Offense, which would suggest to me that the efforts are not there, or have been unsuccessful thus far.

Friendly reminder, OP hasn't been laid since 8/5.

I'll be a lot more worried if this is still the case in 3 weeks. Don't we have a whole ****ton of hat/table announcements and the entire portal opening on Monday?

I was hoping to get an answer by posting this. Portal will help surely, but it would be nice to get a few more offensive weapons from HS. Samson and RB are the only threads going that seem to hold weight right now.

4th one tonight? Who I’ve been out the loop lately

Personally I wouldn't want a kid willingly committing to play in that abortion of an offense. Like, where is competitive drive?! JMO
Not even for a couple hundred G’s?
and knowing that only 3% of college football players ever play in t\he NFL?
And even fewer play long enough to earn a pension?
and even fewer play long enough to change a family’s future?

Are you still turning down the up front money? Because that is the actual calculates parents will be doing with the it kids.
I realize @L A M P that this is a crazy new dynamic but we will likely have to over pay this season because of what you mentioned in your post.
