Kids We Missed On:

Golden should not have missed on Cooper and Williams. Don't think we were ever in it for Fowler, but I don't think we put up enough of a fight. I think Diggs would have committed to Shannon.

Golden found Johnson, I don't think he would have been a Cane otherwise.

I guess this is the first real chance we have to evaluate Golden's recruiting...

My problem is that first of all, you still don't know how to quote a person.

Second, the list you set up is just ridiculous. Diggs spurned us to try to rebuild his hometown team, essentially the same thing Tracy Howard did, except in our favor. That's understandable. Leonard Williams was never going to come here, same with Dante Fowler. Cooper we missed out on. This **** happens on occasion. I would look more at the players that we flipped to properly evaluate Golden.

Howard is reported as saying that until he visited here, he was never going to come here. We found Eddie Johnson late. We got Deon Bush to come here, which was huge. We got Artie Burns even though Alabama wanted him. We're most likely going to keep Jamal Carter and LSU is after him hard. We got Tryiq McCord (best pass-rusher on our team already) to commit here. Now I don't want to turn this into a Golden vs Shannon debate, but you were the one who brough up Shannon...how many of those kids do you think he lands? My guess is maybe Bush...maybe.

Why was Leonard Williams "never coming here?" He could have been a day 1 starter. He is exactly what this team needs, he's a Florida kid, and we couldn't even get him on campus to visit? As I recall, there was some late interest there as well.

It's the same with Dante Fowler. Why were we never in the picture? St Petersburg is not Gainesville.

The Diggs argument I buy, although he was all about Miami for the longest time, and we couldn't even get a visit in the end.
