Kids We Missed On:

DL: Leonard Williams, USC -- Pac-12 Defensive Freshman of the Year finished with 7.5 sacks and 13 tackles for loss.

DL: Dante Fowler Jr., Florida -- 7 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks for nation's fifth-ranked defense.

WR: Amari Cooper, Alabama -- 895 receiving yards accounted for 32 percent of Crimson Tide receiving production; 17.2 yards per reception average ranked sixth among all FBS receivers with more than 50 catches.

Return specialist/All-Purpose: Stefon Diggs, Maryland -- 848 yards accounted for 39 percent of team's total; finished 13th nationally at 28.5 yards per kickoff return.

Kids We Got:

Return specialist/All-Purpose: Duke Johnson, Miami -- ACC Rookie of the Year placed third in league with 947 yards rushing and returned two kicks for touchdowns.

LB: Eddie Johnson, Miami* -- Redshirt collected 59 tackles, 7.5 for loss, with 1 sack and 1 interception.

Golden should not have missed on Cooper and Williams. Don't think we were ever in it for Fowler, but I don't think we put up enough of a fight. I think Diggs would have committed to Shannon.

Golden found Johnson, I don't think he would have been a Cane otherwise.

I guess this is the first real chance we have to evaluate Golden's recruiting...

Williams was never coming here. Never.

Cooper was a miss. He would've come had he had friends here ala Coley with Deon and Tracy

Terrible post, only player on that list he missed on is Cooper.

We didn't really miss on him, but Williams is a **** monster.

Maybe Diggs comes here, if the "Nevin Situation" doesn't happen. You can say that about a few kids though.

We never in the game for Williams. It was either Auburn, UF, or USC.

Stefon Diggs is from Maryland. The general thought was that Miami was a heavy favorite. However, being that Maryland really hasn't put out a good product recently and Diggs is from Maryland, he could've been "committed" to the home town team from the get go.

Fowler liked UM as much as Duke liked UF. Like Williams, we never stood a chance.

The only one we missed on was Cooper. Straight from our backyard, not heavily recruited from the start. We made a late push, but that was a couple months after he was committed to 'Bama. Sanctions may have played a small part as well.

not sure if serious...just because Williams is from Florida means we should have got him. He's from Daytona Beach and had no interest in Miami. We got on Cooper too late and its pretty hard to sell Miami over Bama

Not this! This is recruiting we are gonna get good players and miss on some good players. Alot of other schools can make the same argument about some of these players besides Cooper he should have been ours.

That's some revisionist history right there. From what I gathered we were the first to offer Cooper, so I don't know how we got on him to late.
