Thought Freet was solid but regardless of the career move, how could anyone get excited to move from Coral Gables, FL to any part of Arkansas yet alone Fayettville? ***** the raise and stay in Miami

There were a bunch of tenured professors here in the Cal State and Univeristy of Cal system who left tenured positions to take jobs in places like Nebraska, Oklahoma etc.

The reason the gave was simple. In California they would always have to rent as home costs were so high a professor's salary didn't cut the mustard.
Easy to make 100k in SoCal and still save very little at the end of the year.

Same as in Coral Gables or any nice part of Miami.

Guy like Freet goes to Arkansas, and like the Cal professors, would be able to buy a nice house in cash, after the first year.

Miami is a great place if you have money. Not so great living paycheck to paycheck.
