Franklin offered at Penn State

They just flew back from destin tn after meeting with him. I wouldn't doubt they offered

I guess we'll have to wait and see if Franklin is going to accept or give Vandy a chance to counter offer.

PSU leaked this for a reason.

They will not do this unless Franklin already pretty much accepted. Otherwise if Franklin declines, the next person up has more leverage.

SO. my guess

Golden was discussed, interview went very well, #'s were discussed, but PSU wanted to interview everyone first and Golden could not wait all this time so he backed out and not lose his current job & not get the new one.

I would not doubt that Golden was offered the Job, got home, and had his wife exercise some veto power

So much for all those posters with "sources" saying Al would be PSU coach by the end of the week.

I hope he turns them down. We need Al gone.

I don't know why everyone is sure that he won't turn it down. If he was so gung ho to go to Penn State, this would have been done earlier or he would have been on that plane back to Pennsylvania with the AD and school president. Also, the Vanderbilt AD's tone in his interviews sounds like he is going to do everything he possibly can to keep Franklin and will not let him go without a fight.
