Frank Gore - story/article

So underappreciated in his own time, but this guy has been a f*cking rock for that franchise and is making a nice Hall of Fame case very quietly.

Also, whan talking about how complete a back he is, let's not forget to throw some credit to DOn SOldinger, who is probably one of the best running backs coaches of all time.

There was a time when Edge, Portis and Gore were pretty much the best the NFL had to offer at the position, and each of them was known for being an elite blocker in addition to being able to catch and run. Something to be said for that.

I almost started a thread about this the other day. His numbers are very good and it would take a few more years, and maybe a championship or two would help, but seeing him this year I don't see why he can't play a few more years at a high level if he wants to. It's not like losing top end speed would keep him from producing.

I think he is still under contract with SF through 2014 and with that offensive line, he should have a few more good years in him.

He is going to start seeing a reduced workload with the emergence of Kaepernick and Lamichael James in the Pistol, and I imagine that cap figure is not going to help his case.

But in terms of being able to physically keep going, I agree with you...speed has never been his game.

Props to Frank Gore. One of the All Time Great Canes.

Not sure about the article crediting the Niners RB coach for Frank's pass protection though. I'm betting he already learned all that from Solly.

This story did make it occur to me that it will be another Super Bowl guaranteed to have Canes in it.

Gore on the Niners. I think Tavares Gooden does Special Teams.
Bosher is on the Falcons. Not sure if Spencer Adkins is still on the team.
Big Vince Wilfork on the Pats.
Ray Lewis and Ed Reed for the Ravens. I feel like they have another somewhere too.

Frank Gore, a pleasure and a performer.

Coach Harbaugh loves him and so do the 49ers and their fans.

He's the all time rusher for yards and TD's now in franchise history.

I know a lot of fans who appreciate Frank's blocking the blitzing LB. The media talks about his all-around game a lot here.

Go Canes! Go 49ers!

McKinney on the Ravens also.

Am I right that we should give Coker cudo's for reeling in Gore and Rosco Parrish. I beieve they were both Mississippi bound when Butch left(Academic deficiencies) but Coker got them in late. I would love to hear more from him in the off season

Best HS RB I've ever seen. He toyed with great HS opponents. Frank just floated out there. The most insane jump cuts other than Barry Sanders.

Love me some FG. His ACLs begged for mercy and gave out because man was not meant to do what he was doing back then.

I remember back in the Grassy days, an Ole Miss fan posted how much they wanted him and he was the heart of their recruiting class. The guy was extremely nice though, and wished us and Frank all the success in the world. I actually started rooting for Mississippi a little because of that fan.

They almost got Roscoe and Gore. The fact that Miami didn't move on those two with Butch but landed them with Coker is one of the strangest things I've seen as a recruiting fan.

In regards to LMJ taking carries away from Gore because of the offense, that's not exactly accurate. Gore had his carries reduced when Hunter was in there anyway but Greg Roman (Niners OC) talks at length about how ridiculously fast Gore picked up the offense. The most they used the offense Gore got 23 carries in the game.

LMJ may have more experience with it but Gore has already shown he can handle it with ease and he is obviously a much better running back.

Gore is experiencing an amazing second wind to his career and having those other young guys should keep some tread on his tires. The dude just gets the game.

he's got reasonable shot at the HOF. If he can stay healthy for 3 more years, he can put up very solid career numbers. Should get close to 10K by end of next year.

He flashed the "U" just before commercial break while sitting down with the hosts of the post game show.

My all-time favorite Cane success story. Dude took a gamble by coming out when he did and he made good on his opportunity in spades. Couldn't be happier for him.

I think Gore learning disability made him a tough call. EVERYONE knew he was a stud RB.
