Found these three tweets very interesting

The city of LA would be nowhere near #2 (per capita).

Mater Dei is pumping out the most kids right now, and that's in Santa Ana in Orange County.

And Long Beach Poly is in - no surprise - Long Beach.

Calabasas seems to be attracting a lot of players at the moment for some reason (never used to) and it's in the city of Calabasas.

The Flowes are from Upland which is nowhere close to the city of LA.

I don't think the city of LA per capita would make the top 10.

By total population in the LA Basin (probably somewhere between 15 and 20 million nowadays), it would do well - but only because it's so huge.

They should do signees per capita by city. It would even be close. I'd bet on Atlanta and LA being #2 though.

Read those tweets and thought:

1) invest in soccer
2) invest in video games leagues
3) be grateful for the remaining years of football, certainly as we once knew it

I'm here. I'm one of the dudes [perhaps irresponsibly] telling parents "no no, don't worry, your son will be fine" and then getting a 6 year old to backpedal and flip his hips. But, you're kidding yourself if you don't acknowledge seeing parents (who wouldn't have previously thought twice) now say things about the danger of football. Even when it's not true. And, when you leave South Florida, those concerns grow louder.

Just leaves for more south florida players being recruited. That sh*t is a religion here and aint slowing down.

**** the Haitian kids (2nd generation now) who never played are now popping out in numbers going div 1. They were the kids that grew up on Soccer.

Add to the no weight limit in optomist now...You will see an even more uptick.

Long as their is an nfl draft and a chance for these single mothers to brag on fb/instagram...kids are gonna continue playing football in huge numbers.

No 1 is going to baseball and soccer is worthless in this country. Basketball only can be played by a chosen few.

Everything else is media talk by dudes that write papers or journalist that were to scared/or couldnt play football so they are justifying with "hype" and media influence to say numbers are down or create some sort of panic

They are showing cfl football during the week here..this country is football starved lol

It's a weird thing because I have a younger buddy who's working with some other younger guys - all former 'highish' level D1 guys, arena guys, etc. - working kids out as private football instructors throughout SoFla. And, there's actually a market for this unlike a couple decades ago.

So you'll see this uptick in private training, yet then you'll hear parents who NEVER talked about football dangers mention concussions. I'm talking about inner city moms who are trying to get their kids into programming/technology.

I'm like, "ma'am, your son looks like a future RT, I'll teach him some tech, but he can do both and pay for college easier." I also go to some of these "tougher" charter school programs and see classrooms covered in Gator stuff. I immediately start talking to kids about the Canes. Like you alluded to, social media has changed a **** ton more than just access to scandalous women.

That small *** state has 5 fbs teams. The real percapita are Miss and Louisiana. Thats where we should be hanging.

All 3. The problem is kids from a Bama and Miss State rarely leave the SEC. I think we would have better results in Louisiana out of those 3 states.

Lots of love for Miami across these states. The lifestyle is very appealing with these young guys. Always wondered why we haven’t put more feelers out there.

Like Ed Reed and Reggie Wayne was forgotten. There are lots of kids that don’t care for LSU, Ole Miss, and MSU, just like kids here aren’t always set on the big 3.

Think we would be surprised the number of quality guys that would be interested.

This has been since ive been in high school. Majority of the teachers are uf alumni and admins in the public school system

Have we ever went hard in MS? We have done well in GA.

Texas is in play for LA recruits no doubt.

Still, stories like Dsdd talking about those corners who weren’t offered make me wonder how many stones we are leaving unturned because of assumptions.

If they keep having earthquakes, the drop off will be mind blowing.

A little help here...
Is the term per capita in this case the ratio of FBS signees to all HS football players , or,
FBS signees to all people in the state.

If it's the later...I mean geez...how many retirees reside in Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Hawaii, and Louisiana?

The drop off in California is really shocking.
The state is rapidly losing many parts of American culture. I have family there it’s so funny to see. Not even necessarily a bad thing just a fact that is happening. In fact my family there (south Asian) is part of the shift. They don’t watch any major American sports, and they live in an area with all first generation people and most in their neighborhood don’t get that exposed to other parts and people of the country.
