If they keep having earthquakes, the drop off will be mind blowing.

Too soon man....

There's been alot written the last few years about low participation levels in California's Junior football leagues. The number of kids playing football out there is crashing quickly due to fears about concussions. Welcome to the future of football boys and girls.

They should do signees per capita by city. It would even be close. I'd bet on Atlanta and LA being #2 though.

I don't know if it was done by city but like 10-11 years ago, the state of Louisiana was the highest per capita (NFL draft picks) and that essentially meant New Orleans (in my opinion). They have a decent amount of talent but significantly smaller populations than most of the other football hotbeds, especially after Katrina.

It might not be true now but it probably still fits somewhat because Louisiana is #8 but #25 largest state by pop.

By comparison, Cali, TX, and FL are the top 3 largest populations.

If they did per capita by city, Fort Lauderdale would probably be number 1. New Orleans at 2 then Miami at 3 if I were to guess.

The west coast of FL has some solid talent, but really screws the state of FL overall in the per capita argument.

Just proves that overall, Florida still remains the most talent rich football state in the country, in terms of where you want to spend your time as a recruiter - and it’s not even close. Not even close, at all.

And they don’t break it down within the state, but we all know that the concentration is mostly in South Florida. With some good pockets in Jacksonville and Central Florida-Tampa/Orlando.

Pretty obvious. Like i said Texas has 12 FBS schools. That adds to their number immensly.

Exactly. It’s actually mind-boggling how many FBS schools Texas has.

Also Florida has the best ratio in terms of high population and high per capita number of athletes. If you look at that per capita number, even though Florida is four or five spots down, of those states, it is by far the one with the highest population, and it’s not even close. It still remains the place to go for elite football talent. Especially south Florida. Where you have the enviable combination of high population, high population density, high per capita football talent, and high numbers of football talent. It’s just the concentrated epicenter for football talent in the world. The numbers just keep proving it.
