We should want our former players to get experience at other places under good coaches. In Trent's case he will be coaching for a HC for which he played for in the NFL, who has a very good reputation, at least on the defensive side of ball and against very Big10 competition. Good for him and potentially good for us if/when we are looking for LB coaches.
