Fork Stanford

Prease.

Educate me.
Louisville was ranked 19th in the CFP when they lost to Stanford. Had that loss not happened, Louisville would be ranked probably around 15 right now, with losses to Us, Nd and Smu. Syracuse would be 10-2 right now and ranked at the time we played them. Those losses to Stanford changed the whole calculus.

A one TD loss to a 10-2 ranked Syracuse looks alot better than a 3 TD loss to 6-6 Ou.

The GT loss by 4 on the road looks better on paper now that they took the #5 team to OT.

The bottom line is yes we needed to win to control our own destiny, but Alabama needed Uga to win that game against Gt. They got what they needed. We got screwed.

disappointed oh no GIF

We are to blame-We had everything in front of us and blew it-

This is what happens when you leave up to someone else-

Cristobal, look in the mirror it’s on you period-

GT and Syracuse are mediocre teams at best-

Enough excuses.
Yea they're not though. Syracuse will end up likely with 10 wins and GT had UGA dead to rights and just fell short. They're good teams who are tough at home and if we had just one semi playmaker in the secondary we beat them both.

Mario, Guidry and this crap defense are the reason we're not in the CFP. Stanford had nothing to do with it...GTFOH

If you think Louisville being 9-3 instead of 8-4 would be the tipping point, then I’ve got some beachfront property in South Dakota to sell you.

We were never getting in over Alabama once we picked up a second loss to an un-ranked ACC opponent.
Syracuse was ranked.

Tbh it might’ve. Louisville being 9-3 would have them in the top 25. Stanford also beat Syracuse and they would’ve finished 10-2 and ranked higher as well. We would’ve lost to a top 3 ACC opponent (Syracuse in this scenario) but also had wins against a top 15 Louisville on the road. Conference would’ve finished with 5 Ranked teams (all would’ve been top 20) with 3 teams finishing with 10 wins and 3 finishing with 9

Stanford quite in fact beat the 2 teams that affected us the most in terms of perception

Rankings would’ve made our case for the CFP significantly stronger.

SMU #7-8 (their resume gets stronger too)
Miami would’ve been given the 10-11 slot (here’s why)
Louisville would’ve been anywhere from 13-15 (they were ranked 19 when they lost and have since won 3 straight 1 being a blowout of a SEC rival on the road)
Clemson 15-16 (losses only to UGA/ a top 15 Louisville team, a top 15 SC team)
Syracuse 17-20 (10-2 and undefeated at home)
