Henderson is a CB possibility and Culpepper is a safety.

Here are his measurable from Nike and from his HS track running-

American Heritage Nike Regional Combine--March 6, 2016
Naytron Culpepper.. DB ..17 ..FL ..Carol City... 6-0(ht)... 160(wt)... 4.74(40-elect)... 4.46(short shuttle)... 33.0(power ball)... 30.9(vertical)... 73.02(SPARQ Score)

Best High School track results were in 2015 at American High. He did not run this year at Carol City so no doubt faster. Appears to be a long strider from track times as he gets faster as the sprint distance gets longer.
200m--22.48 (national elite 22.00)
400m--49.48 (national elite 49.50)

````````````````````````````
Now here is Daniel Wright's Nike Combine measurable from the same March 6, 2016 combine and his official high school track speeds.
Remember the U is after Wright big time trying to flip him from FSU...not too much difference when just measurable considered. Remember to that Culpepper did not run this past spring at Carol City.
Daniel Wright... DB.. 17.. FL.. Cardinal Gibbons.. 6-0(ht)... 168(wt)... 4.71(40-elect).. 4.34(short shuttle)... 36.0(power ball)... 33.3(vertical)... 87.48(SPARQ Score)
Best HS track times-
200m--22.24
400m--48.60
Excellent comparison. Also interesting to see Wright's actual Nike measurements back then was 6 feet and 168 not taller and slightly heavier than Culpepper.
Culpepper plays the toughest competition. Let this boy in our weight room for a RS year and let him come out at 180-185 and you have a real safety that can run.
Culpepper is a big 400m track guy. Great long speed
That's actually one of my concerns with him. He seems like a long strider.....and a guy with his length with long strides can struggle in/out of cuts and in off man if he can't get his hands on the WR. I see him more as a FS than i do CB where he can patrol open space.
I think you're being real nitpicky. The guy has been a featured track kid since freshman year. And yeah, his event is 400m but that doesn't necessarily mean he can't be a CB at the next level. Bennie blades was a champion 300/400m guy so there's that.
Blades was a safety in the pros and mostly at the U. I remember in the National Championship Game with Tennessee they used a 4-5 man receiver set and placed Blades in the position of guarding a WR with SEC 55-meter track speed and he ran away from Blades in the short distance with that burst. Tenn ended up winning the game for the NC.
At safety he could patrol the field with that excellent speed you mentioned.
I am sure Culpepper can cover many of the ACC receivers as a CB but the better teams will place him against guys with a super burst or short speed and exploit it.
But let's get him and he may yet develop into a good corner. If not you have a safety with real speed.
Culpepper is as fast as Daniel Wright as 1953 showed so why not take him, give him a RS S&C year and go from there as a safety?
Of course i am - but that's what evaluations are. You break guys down and compare the strengths and weaknesses. When i watched him film, his stride and body movements stood out to me. He looks like a high hip glider - the perfect build for events like 400m where guys build up their speed and stride after 100-200M.
At CB, those type players work well against tall WRs who run a lot of go routes, deep corners/posts, etc but can (and i stress can) struggle at times against double moves (slugo, stop and go), WRs quick off the line (in press technique) or slants, smash routes, whip routes, comebacks in off man.
This guy will be worth taking due to his athletic ability, level of play he performed against at Carol City and toughness. As mentioned in previous post his speed is right up there with Wright and about the same exact size.
