Forfeit Epidemic Sweeping High School Football

"Grown men telling on kids" is so off. It's the "coaches" and admin who facilitate this ****. It's low level human trafficking at this point lol. Got kids coming from Cali to play at Miami Central of all places.
Don't hate the player hate the game. Can be applied universally.

We're so good about crying. Cheating is cheating. If it's not it's not.

I think there are degrees to all this. Getting transfer administrative paperwork right is one thing. Doesn't deserve a forfeit if it was accidental and not a chronic problem at the school. Playing a 20 year old is another. That's dangerous when you may have 15 year olds or in some cases even 14 year olds out on the field. And if a kid is academically ineligible, then that's also a problem, IMO. The school staff should get penalized in some way for that even more so than the players.

Yeah this is an indictment against the school administrations as much as anything since it is there jobs to determine whether a player is eligible to play.

I coach 8th grade basketball at a private school in Atlanta and every day I receive a list of students who cannot practice because they missed something academically or their GPA is below 75. Thankfully none of my players have been under 75 but I just point that out to show that a school admin can and should be on top of any eligibility issues for players. Coaches will play whomever they are told they can play.

I want to know what was the tipping point that decided that this was an issue to be investigated all over the place. Absolutely no way all these high schools are playing 100% eligible players and then all of a sudden one year a bunch of schools in multiple states are doing it. Must’ve been something that was going on for a long time and something got triggered.
Even before players were allowed to play outside their respective high school boundaries, there were kids who’s parents were getting utility bills in other addresses so than can play at another school.

Rather than worrying about who is “telling” on whom, should Teddy not spend more of his rant caring about the kids who are being moved from school to school and state to state?
I don't know enough about Florida high school football to speak to the transferring shenanigans with the kids (although I trust you and others on the board), but the adults 'telling' line just smacks of getting caught cheating (something he controls), that negatively affects the kids on the team and then blaming the person who reported it (who was likely in one way or another negatively impacted by it) rather than himself.

It does suck that the players get penalized as I am guessing most of them are fine/probably didn't even know - the NCAA has at least tried to get away from punishing the players on the team when a head coaches in college football get caught cheating, but not sure what the high schools could do.

Yes. Totally agree. Teddy, This is not about you man. Nobody gaf what level you just left, dawg. You sound like a self absorbed beyotch. "Grown men telling on kids"? For real?! That's what we doing? That's where we pointing the finger? Bruh please! How about the grown men that are openly and ILLEGALY recruiting players from other teams? And the ones that facilitating this ****? Do **** the right way, then yeen gotta worry about it. There's nothing wrong with a kid wanting to transfer or a parent wanting to move their kids to a better situation, but there is a right way to do it. **** is like the wild wild west up here. Boosters, Coaches, and some parents., are running amok, with this ****. Setting up fake addresses, paying rent, handing out jobs, lol.....and some admins are turning a blind eye.

Same. 8 years of charter schooling for my son's. I'm on staff also. We get that list end of every week. Also includes potential academic issues.

The part where things get muddy is kids that are strictly online but play with us. Impossible to track unless the AD is informed. It's even worse with ssac and charter schools. I've seen **** that would make a billy goat puke.

Accountability.. Some people have none... Mainly women.... Bridgewater a woman?

if you cheat.. pay the price when caught... no matter how

My senior year we were 9-0. We had to forfeit 8 wins because our kicker was a 19 year old from Africa that lied about his age. Ended up finding out a couple hours before our last game that we would have to sit out the playoffs. Talk about Yikes!

This was taken down but it’s no surprise to those who have played down here or been around hs football in sfl.

My issue is similar things have been going on for a while, you get caught you thrown stones from a glass house causing a domino effect. I wish they paid coaches down here like they do in Texas and Georgia so they’re not as easily influenced but that only sounds good on paper and I’m sure the issues are more big than just that.

Well, now this makes a lot of sense. This isn’t a big enough story in my opinion to gather a lot of traction on regular media. This sounds like somebody snitching on himself, trying to get leverage for promises made. With nil in place and lega, there really isn’t a system that’s gonna pander to street agents at the same level they did before. You have lawyers, agents, corporations, companies, and legit revenue streams, willing to pay players. Dealing with some shady dude that has some loose connections with people you don’t know and faces you’ve never seen seen isn’t as appealing as it once was. Someone’s revenue stream has likely been very diminished. The legit five star kids don’t need the street agents anymore because dudes like Rosenhaus are calling them directly.
Somebody seems to have some poison switch that was tripped now that he’s being ignored.
The only revenue stream left to pander to is a three star kid. I doubt that G5 teams are going to be paying anywhere near what P4 teams were paying for five stars.
