For those saying we're not that good...

Please go watch the 1986 Miami-Tulsa game
Please go watch the 1987 Miami-Toledo game
Please go watch the 1990 Miami-San Diego State game
Please go watch the 1991 Miami-Boston College game
Please go watch the 1992 Miami-Arizona game
Please go watch the 1994 Miami-Pitt game
Please go watch the 2001 Miami-BC game

If you don't know what I'm talking about

In 1986, one of the best teams in college football history beat Tulsa by 13 at home
In 1987, the national champion Hurricanes beat 3-7-1 Toledo by 10 at home
In 1990, 10-2 Miami beat 6-5 San Diego State by 2
In 1991, the national champion Hurricanes beat 4-7 Boston College by 5
In 1992, #1 Miami beat 6-5-1 Arizona by 1 at home when Arizona missed a FG as time expired
In 1994, 10-2 Miami beat a 3-8 Pitt team by 5 at home
In 2001, the best college football team EVER, needed a miracle INT to beat Boston College

Road games on Thursday night are difficult. Ask FSU.

Which is what I was trying to tell people for the past 2 weeks and I was routinely laughed at.

Agreed, but the same idiots who laughed at you will continue saying Miami by 40 in every game.

Oh, I know they will. They'll be quiet for 2 days though...maybe.

steven morris is playing nowhere near as good as he should be playing. other than that i take nothing else away bad away from this game. injuries to key guys on the road, overcame hostile road environment and came away with the W. what else can you ask?

We were 1-4 in Chapel Hill before tonight. We just don't play well there. I'll take the W, thank you very much.

I actually think this sets up well for us. Everyone (our fans, their fans, other teams fans, condoleeza rice) is thinking FSU will kill us. Good. Let them think that. You watch, we're going to compete with them.

That 1st win came against their interuim coach.

I don't disagree that great teams will have close games. The problem is that Morris has been consistently struggling against any team that is not borderline D2. You're not comparing him to Kelly, Testeverde, Walsh, or Dorsey, right?

And while this defense is much improved, it's not on the same level as our swarming defenses of the 80s and 90s, and our top defenses in the early 2000s.

There are countless teams that struggle every year against mediocre teams. Usually, it indicates that they are pretty average as well. A very select few are natl. championship caliber. And those select few tend to dominate most of their opponents.

Unless Morris gets it together quickly, we are going to lose some games this year. You need to rely on your senior QB, not win in spite of him.

I'd just like to say we are presently 6-0 and 2-0. In 2 days we stay in the top 10. Next.

The fact is correct but Chapel Hill is not some mystical place. It has been a combo of bad coaching and talent on UM and good coaching and talent at UNC.

"Keep an eye on No. 10 Miami. Any team that loses its top rusher (Duke Johnson) and top receiver (Phillip Dorsett) to injury, commits four turnovers, and comes back from a 10-point, fourth-quarter deficit on the road to beat North Carolina, 27-23, has the makeup that every coach wants."

-Ivan Maisel of ESPN

Giving up 4 turnovers on the road is hard enough to overcome. Having two other drives stall inside the 10 where we had to settle for fgs and a QB that can't do anything with a defense that was on it's heels at time and we found a way to win? Now that's just crazy. Thank God for our O-line in the 4th, Dallas Crawford being a grown *** man and capitalizing on their mistakes and limiting them after ours.

OP please don't use historical data for perspective and for pointing out that all teams have that one or two games every year. Or the fact at least this year we have a game like that and pull it off for a win, where in recent pasts we would've loss.

Historical evidence to gain perspective is a trait that knee jerk in the moment "experts" cus they played high school football and are bad asses in John Madden Football, just don't have

The problem with message boards is that everyone is cheering for their predictions, and expectations and not really for the team at the end of the day.

That positive quote can't be from an ESPN reporter. According to so many on here, they hate UM.

I really thought we would beat UNC by more than 10 points. I was one of those people you mention. The second Duke got hurt, after seeing him on pace for 300 rushing yards, I began to think this will be a close one.

Yeah, but you weren't an *** about it

I have never been called an *** before, you put me in my place. I am sorry for being an ***. I apologize to the others I offended for being an ***. Do you like rusty trombones?
