Different NCAA world now. Almost every offense back then ran a NFL type of offense. The big difference then was Dennis Erickson, ace back 3 wide. Now with all these formations and plays and zone-read it puts the defense in a bind.
Not saying these guys would be as good as they were I'm just saying offenses nowadays force a defense to think and if I'm looking at the same '91 team as y'all are, they don't think they kill, which may be the wrong thing to do against a zone-read team cause you're forced to think.

I personally think the best comparison and goal this team and coaches are aiming for is what Michigan State is doing. D'Antonio seems to have the same mentality as Golden, continuity is the coaching staff and get the players acclimated to whatever is going on.

I kno you guys don't wanna hear this but when Golden came it was going to be a 5-7 year revolution, not a rebuilding. He broke down all the pillars that were there before and implemented everything new, offensively, defensively and special teams. You guys can come back to me in his 5th year and tell me I'm wrong if and when I am. That 5th year is when I expect this team to be at the VERY LEAST be a top 15 team and from then on almost be at the very least competing for a top 15 AP Poll.

Love those teams in the past, but I'm realistic man, look at the NCAA then, look at it now. Different world.
