You make some good points Rell...
But I will say that it's frustrating that kids can't see the vision at Miami? But they all of a sudden see the hope and big picture and are willing to play the long game with Nebraska when the best they can do is 6-6 off two 4-8 seasons...**** one of their wins is at the buzzer at home against Northwestern who is losing to everyone by 30... I mean Frost is allowed to flop ya know?
Very true bro, and I feel the frustration more than anyone. However, Miami's mediocrity have forced my hand to become a college football fan where I now track every team. You can blame Golden for this b/c nothing made sense that we continued to under achieve despite the shear amount of Rivals/247 deemed blue chip players that we had. With that being said here's the problem w/ our vision v. Nebraska's vision, and I think it's a fair comparison between these once mighty giants of the CFB world since we both, ironically, have been M.I.A since 03:
Since 2004: Nebraska has compiled a record of 120-83 and have won 10 games 3x, won their division 5x, and won 5 bowl games
Since 2004: Miami has complied a record of 121-79 and have won 10 games 1x, won our division once, and 3 bowl games
The difference is that Nebraska hired a coach that went 19-7 at UCF (a Florida school), including 13-0 prior to accepting the job. So he's going to get the benefit of the doubt of rebuilding. As a contrast, we hired a coach that was already apart of a previous "vision" that failed, along w/ uber commercializing how Miami would be under his watch (TNM), and his "vision" has been a bust thus far, as well.
Unfortunately for Manny, which I alluded to, if he was going to do all this talking about TNM, he better be prepared for the bull's eye that comes with it. His only chance was for him to back up the talk b/c our trust level among So. Fla blue chip players are non-existent. The Chaney's of the world have become more of an anomaly, and unless we plan on dropping bags, the only way the de-commits stop or we get blue chip players is winning. Bags or winning is our only chance to change perception, unless we hire a coach who is known for recruiting and is an up and comer. The latter ain't happening for at least 2 more years, so we're only left w/ the first two options.
