Within our current circumstance. For instance, changing overall defense philosophy is not realistic. But changing positional responsibility could be.

2 options, change players or make it less complicated.
most of the breakdowns are zone coverages, Hill doesn't look like he knows the coverage called half the time or his responsibilities in those zones.

Welp, judging by the way #7,#19,#25 have played so far, and the staff can’t see what we see while watching the game then there’s nothing going to change. That said, if they see what we see then give the young pups burn, it can’t be worse then how #7 has played, **** it could be better. Baptism by 🔥 🔥 🔥!!!

You do realize Patterson took half the snaps in second half right? So obviously a change at safety is already in motion. Keep up bud.

I would move to cover 2 with a bigger DB at our nickel/outside backer spot (Demari would be option #1 for this, but maybe Meesh second) alongside Kiko and Wes.

The problem with the safeties is pretty clear, I would stack zaquan and mesh or zaquan and markeith. When we can get Damaris back im going OJ, Porter on the outside, Demari as my nickel. Even if we did this, we’re Going to be really thin with playable depth.

Not many people are talking about the backers lack of pass coverage. We’re actually really good against the run right now. I think we give up an avg ~80yd. I would roll with Kiko and Wes at backer, have Popo off the bench, maybe 3rd down backer.

With this we would have better safety play IMO. More instinctual play, less to process and fail at. Backers can cover underneath routes. DL does what it does.

Simplicity is the mother of invention. Think we'd be better off playing base 4-3 Cover 2 on nearly every snap with this group. Don't get playing 5 DBs when 4-5 of them stink. Think we confuse ourselves much more than the other team when we show one defense presnap and shift to something else post-snap.

Brotha its 2024 playing nearly every snap with 3 lbs on the field would be hilarious

Call Ed Reed and beg him to throw water on every one of the DBs at 4am to go out there and start practicing and see who really wants to play.

Yeah against 4 WRs it would be comical caveman footballl, but I'm at the grasping at straws point with this defense. Our offense so good all this freaking defense has to do is a get a stop or two and turn a touchdown or two into FG and we're cooking. We just gotta get guys on the ground when they catch the ball in front of us. I legit think if the other team is in 11 personnel we should have a 3rd LBer out there and play Cover 2. I'm also prolly suffering from PTSD after watching our nickel corners these past couple of years lol.

Start zaquan. It’s not even exaggerating but Harris play is changing the trajectory of games on defense
and go to 4-2-5
Bring pressure with 4 up front.
Too many times yesterday some of the 4 were dropping back in coverage.
The best way to help the back-end is pressure up the middle
