I wonder what Pete Garcia puts on his CV...

  • I hired Mario Cristobal, who built my football program from the bottom of the barrel, to back 2 back bowl appearances in '10 & '11. Then I fired him after 2012 because T.Y. Hilton graduated.
  • I suck at life.
  • I hired Isiah Thomas to coach my basketball team. He went 26-65 over 3 seasons, winning a school record 11 games in '11-'12.

Impressive!

FIU will be coming after Coley next.. As long as Yearby/Kayaa stick, I'll wish him well. Lol

This wouldn't surprise me. I think Yearby and Kaaya would stick. Its also anybodys guess if he would take that job, although I think its a decent upstart gig. Plenty of access to talent.

Coley would be an idiot to take that dead end job. He shouldn't be in a rush. He's in a great position on a great staff at a great university. He can hang in there and wait for The Don to go to the NFL or string together a few really good years and get a HC gig at a real program, not a toilet like that school across the ocean--fiu.

Wouldn't surprise me if FIU pursues manny Diaz as HC. Also, I think the next miami coach to leave would be D'onofrio

Donofrio has no reason to jump on the FIU job though. He is probably hoping for something like Rutgers or Syracuse. Or he might be in it for the long haul. I'm greatly impressed by the tactical improvement the defense has made. He has improved, but guys knowing what they are supposed to do helps.

Coach D'Onofrio must have read the musings of all the message board coaching legends this off-season. Either that or he knew what he was doing all along and couldn't do what he's doing this year due to the extraordinary personnel and experience issues he faced with last year's roster.

Not that Mario is anything but a middle of the road coarch, but they dun goofed by **** canning him. Will take years for them to lift from the bottom.

Coach d's defense hasn't played well against a respectable offense yet this year (not his fault because he hasn't played one). I think he is far from contentionof a head coaching job. Let's see him shut down fsu or clemson before crowing him prematurely. Our d has improved, but I think most of it against florida was physicality, lets not rush to judgement and then see us get torched by virginia or the boston colleges of the world again
