off topic, but has any Riley recruited QB out of HS panned out so far at OU?
I laughed at the award ceremony this year when the following past winners were on stage:
WillIan’s got a lot of publicity because OU had a good season and he unseated Rattler. But anyone who watched their games saw that Williams leaves much to be desired as a passer. Great runner but he threw up a lot of jump balls And not much was on time.
I've been a huge Garcia fan and I still think Garcia will do big things, but right now I'm all in on TVD. You combine the strides TVD has made with his work ethic and I think we're looking at the 2nd coming of Jim Kelly.Paging all the guys I argued with for a week about this back in October.
I said he'd be mentioned in the Heisman conversation plenty in 2022. I was technically wrong because it's 2021 still and it's already started! There is a reason Mario said we have the best QB in the country with a straight face.
I hope this fanbase is starting to understand what we have in TVD. Potentially the best QB we've had here, maybe ever. And yes, that's a bold statement, but he will be in the conversation with the 1980's guys when it's all said and done. Especially if he plays two more years.

I said that awhile ago when the rumors of Brady as OCI mentioned TVD as a potential Heisman candidate to some guy wearing a Canes shirt in Publix the other day.
So,I would say there are now TWO mentions of him as a Heisman candidate.
And he was the number one QB recruit his senior year

This is starting to look more and more likely when you look at the impact Mario has already had in terms of recruiting and getting kids to be very interested at the very least. We are not going to win the National Championship this year but this could be a very very good team if we can get enough pieces for the new DC. With Candle at OC(Hopefully) and the right guy at DC this will be a very good team and fun to watch. I can't wait! This will be the most excited I am for a season in nearly 20 years.
