Fire Golden? Think twice!

Gotta love these people calling for Golden's head. The CEO is not going anywhere. Does he need to make some drastic changes? yes!! But do you think UM will now fire the one coach who stood through the whole NCAA fiasco and kept this team as focused as could be? **** no.
And realisticly ask yourself who would come here to coach UM if UM fired Golden. Schools nowadays throw millions of $$$ to facilities to entice recruits to choose their school. A small private school like UM can not compete in those levels.
Enjoy Golden and support the guy because he is the best UM will have for a looong time

Regardless of what people think about his coaching, one reason everyone should want to keep him is recruiting. Temple is back to 1-9 now that all the NFL talent he recruited is gone. Guys like Larry Coker and Gene Chizik won national titles because they had NFL players. To win National Titles you need NFL players, every champion has them. Golden is a better head coach then guys like Coker and Chizik.
 
Golden didn't recruit any nfl players at temple but 3.

Wilkerson was a basketball player, jaquan jarrett who is not in the nfl, and bernard pierce who no one offered. Terrance knighton was there 2 years when golden got there.

So right now there are only 2 players from temple that was his players.

I don't understand the first sentence, what do you mean?

Jaiquawn Jarrett plays for the Jets and even started a couple of games this season.

Im not really seeing too many people call for coach Golden's job. They are calling for mark dorito's job and rightfully so IMO. This thread is unsubstantiated based on what Im seeing.

I'm not calling for golden's job either. I don't think we will win a NC with him as coach though.

I think he was a good hire for the present time. A good recruiter who can bring talent in, but a average coach.

Tahir Whitehead, Rod Streater, Evan Rodriguez, Adrian Robinson just to name a few. I know a few other were undrafted FA's.

Edit: Scratch Streater, I think he came year after Golden left.

Golden goes from future NFL head coach to canned in 5 weeks time.........we got some geniuses here.

After polling five NFL types -- two personnel execs, two national NFL scouts and a long-time former exec recently serving as an AFC general manager -- two college coaching names came up more than once. Golden has impressed with how he's handled a Miami program encumbered by NCAA uncertainty and desperate for a new identity after the power in the Sunshine State shifted north.

"Sharp guy. He's been a good coach at Temple, good coach at Miami," the NFC personnel exec said. "He has endured (expletive) for three years and handled it well. I think he's got the demeanor for it."

Getting any players from Temple in the NFL is an achievement. You don't take that away from Golden. He is a solid recruiter and recruited some studs at Temple who went on to the NFL because of him.
