Happy for Danny!

i dont get this thing w danny cane. why is he special? are people just trolling him? UM twitter is such a weird place with people trying to be weird cane influencers and ruiz is the captain of it all in giving these people credibility. i guess im not that surprised that hes the booster out there lol

UConn has a nice D, but I'm counting on Coach L and our players to be ready. Also interested in the 1st game. Would love to see an FAU vs UM Final with us winning.
Whose bracket would you find that on 🤔
its cool to see two SFL teams in there. really shows the impact the heat have had in the area (in terms of transforming the hoops culture down here) with a lot of the kids that are playing now

This is facts, lol..

I was on their board linked here recently, reading some of their breakdowns and I had to leave immediately when they started talking about their team could beat some NBA teams.. I was done..

There's always one person that's dumb enough to say something as ridiculous as that. I rather doubt many on the UConn board agree that UConn could beat some NBA teams. The mere thought of it is absurd, equally as absurd as saying the UConn women's team could beat some men's teams (which has also been said over the years).

There's a lot of talk in this thread about UConn being anointed a super team and the prohibitive favorite to win the National Championship. Just remember, it's the media talking heads saying that, not the UConn players. I'm sure they'd prefer the media just shut their mouths. I'm pretty sure the players know this isn't going to a cakewalk by any stretch of the imagination. I also don't think any UConn fan with even a remote sense of reality believes that either. I know I don't. Yes, UConn is a very good team (as is Miami). They have the ability to beat anyone in the country. Having watched every game this year, they also have the ability to lose to any team in the country. "Good" UConn is on a bit of a roll right now. But, you never know when "Bad" UConn will show up. Personally, I don't like the long layoff between the regional finals and the Final Four. It's a momentum killer. However, it affects both teams so I guess all is equal.

I'm looking forward to a close game. I'm not sure my old nerves will be able to take it. It should be a very entertaining game to watch. So many really good players will be on the court. I'm also looking forward to the other game. Can FAU pull it off?

The shame in all this for me as a very casual basketball observer is that UConn and UM aren’t in separate brackets with the way it’s worked out.

Agreed. It would make for a very good championship game. No disrespect to SD State or FAU.

Does our team seem to lose?

or

Does our team seem too loose?

Generations of academics will debate what @USNAVYCANE really meant at higher institutions of learning worldwide.
well the first doesn’t make sense , but the team to me seems to be too loose , like they’re just happy to be there don’t care if they win or lose . But I know that’s just how this team is so idk

I was just soo shocked, mind you this is after a ton expect a blowout, 20+ point win, etc. I get it, most people on boards are the extreme fans and homers but sheesh, NBA?! lol..

And FAU can absolutely pull it off. They are a team who can play anyway as they have legit size, and wing play/shooters. They are legit and can win it all in a one off game with any of these three teams left.

You know, I was going to mention this too. Seems like they are just excited to be there and soaking it all in. All well deserved but there is unfinished business too. Maybe its better that they are loose and having fun. Coach L seems to preach that to them. Maybe the pressure is on UConn because they are expected to win and they (as a program) have been there and have won it all.

I'm sure not predicting a blowout. I've been avid UConn fan (and according to my wife of many years, my fanaticism is unhealthy!) since the early 1990's. I'm as fanatical as they come. However, I'm also a realist. I never participate in "Predict the Score" threads. For me, the only good that comes out of it is if you're correct. If you're wrong about who wins, or the score, especially if you predicted a blowout, all you do is choke on crow feathers. That said, do I think UConn can win? Of course. What kind of fan would I be if I didn't? Do I think it'll be a blowout (in either direction)? Not likely. For that to happen, the wheels would have to come completely off either team. Again, not likely, though it happens, refer to the UConn - Gonzaga game. That was not representative of the Zags team and if they played 5 times, I highly doubt the results would be the same each game. It was just one of those games where everything clicked for UConn and nothing clicked for Gonzaga. Not a good scenario in a win-or-go-home format. The best team doesn't always win the National Championship. Too bad we don't have a 3 game series for the finalists. 2 out of 3 takes home the trophy.
