There's always one person that's dumb enough to say something as ridiculous as that. I rather doubt many on the UConn board agree that UConn could beat some NBA teams. The mere thought of it is absurd, equally as absurd as saying the UConn women's team could beat some men's teams (which has also been said over the years).
There's a lot of talk in this thread about UConn being anointed a super team and the prohibitive favorite to win the National Championship. Just remember, it's the media talking heads saying that, not the UConn players. I'm sure they'd prefer the media just shut their mouths. I'm pretty sure the players know this isn't going to a cakewalk by any stretch of the imagination. I also don't think any UConn fan with even a remote sense of reality believes that either. I know I don't. Yes, UConn is a very good team (as is Miami). They have the ability to beat anyone in the country. Having watched every game this year, they also have the ability to lose to any team in the country. "Good" UConn is on a bit of a roll right now. But, you never know when "Bad" UConn will show up. Personally, I don't like the long layoff between the regional finals and the Final Four. It's a momentum killer. However, it affects both teams so I guess all is equal.
I'm looking forward to a close game. I'm not sure my old nerves will be able to take it. It should be a very entertaining game to watch. So many really good players will be on the court. I'm also looking forward to the other game. Can FAU pull it off?
