Final ESPN300

agree that the hargreaves hype can't get too high. dude looked many times better than brandon or tracy were at that age.

greg bryant is overrated and i like collins better... but kelvin taylor is better than both.

is anyone high on yearby and did miami every pursue him?

Kelvin Taylor isn't better than Alex Collins. It ain't close either.

Hargraves looked as good in the UA game as probably any DB ever. And didn't just look it, made multiple plays. I don't know about his ceiling, but as a prospect I think he's about as good as it's bee since PP.

I think he's one of those guys whose effectiveness will always be there, but whose "caught" by other guys down the road. He's one of the more technically polished HS corners I've ever seen. Other guys are doing it mainly on athleticism. He's like that 6th grader who can go left and finish at the basket with his left hand. That skill is important and makes that kid more effective in junior high, but he begins to lose his advantage as he gets older and other kids' skills develop.

I say Artie Burns will be one of the guys who he is "caught" by

Artie's upside and athleticism is what will get him past VHIII.

Jerzey is right, its not close at all. Rewatch the tape.

Collins >>> Taylor, IMO.

Yearby is all FSU, but Cook and Sony are both better.

Remaining Targets and Commits:

#6 #6
#36 Tim Williams
#47 Stacy Coley
#57 Alex Collins
#58 Al-Quadin Muhammad
#70 Artie Burns
#87 Baby Jesus
#135 Keif
#136 Standish Dobard
#138 Jermaine Grace
#144 Denver Kirkland
#285 Jay-Nard Bostwick"

So we potentially end with 11 top 150 plus Sandland as a Top 50 Juco from out total 18-20 class. Only Bostwick, Gall, RL3, Carter, Knighton and Kerr not in the list. Plus Sunny, Figueroa and Bond from Prep/juco. I think there's an argument that Carter and Bostwick should be on the list, and Figueroa would have been last year if his grades weren't so horrific.

He might get "caught" but whoever catches him might also catch a first round grade. Kid looks like the total package, but you have to prove it in college.

Taylor looked pretty pedestrian in whatever all-star game he played in. Kid has a ton of mileage on him as well

Taylor and Hargreaves and both the best at their position in the country. I love Collins (and Artie), but both those guys are as good as it gets this year. Artie might have better long term potential (NFL) than VHIII because of the length and speed, but Hargreaves will be an elite college guy, really similar to Janoris Jenkins but a better build/run defender. I'd probably have Collins tied with Ford as the 2nd best back, with Taylor a bit ahead of both. Kelvin's burst and acceleration at his size are fantastic.

Insane how 3/4 main recruiting services have Greg Bryant so high. Average size and burst, dances far too much.

Why in god's name would Kelvin Taylor be better than Alex Collins? Give me ONE thing he does that is better than Collins as a running back. ONE.

Jerzey, I agree with you 100% that Collins is a better back than Taylor. But to dg151's defense, he did give two reasons why he prefers Taylor: "Kelvin's burst and acceleration at his size are fantastic". Just saying :-)

I understand, but that's crazy. There isn't a back in the class with more burst or acceleration and that's regardless of size.

Truth! AC3 is the best back in the country, bar none. Duke/AC3 will be the next Frank Gore/Willis McGahee (hopefully without the injuries).

that's crazy. i mean, collins is great but he's not a flat speed/burst guy. you really think collins has more of a burst than alvin kamara? taquan mizzel? i mean, i'll accept an argument that collins is the best overall back in the country (though i think people here overrate him a bit) but the idea that he has the best acceleration is crazy.

i also think it's a huge jump to say that burns is going to be better than hargreaves considering that we're not even sure he's gonna play CB.

Collins does have the best burst among running back members of this recruiting class. He doesn't have Duke Johnson's speed, but the kid has acceleration ability for days.
