I have a question about Ferman. Is he a local guy? Does he have connections? I'm asking cause I truly do not know. Peter had his connections and this Ivins guy is always at camps and etc. But, I never see or hear anything about Ferman making the local rounds.

I think Gary used to be the UM beat reporter for the Herald...many years ago. He started Canesport in the '80's I think. Used to talk to him, never had any dislike for him. He's just a guy who has spent most of his adult life dedicated to writing and covering UM sports and trying to make a living doing it. People used to steal his stuff and post it for free on Grassy. I don't know how good his connections are. I don't know what you mean by "local rounds." His recruiting guy has been Matt Shodell. Shodell has been doing that for over ten years...at least.

The guy who used to come up with names of the best local players was, at one time, Mike Bakas. He was talking about Sean Taylor and a lot of local guys who turned out to he great players at UM but who were never on national lists. Mike was doing it while still in HS in Orlando. For a while he tried to make a go of it when he had his own board, Sunstate Recruiting. Then Mike went with the original Rivals outfit. I think they screwed him out of money they owed him. I know Gary tried to offer Mike a job but for some reason Mike didn't want it. He then signed on with Mike "Grassy" Knoll when Rivals was reconstituted under new management. I never liked Grassy although it was the best board and I spent most of my time there. As a matter of principle, I didn't like how people stole Ferman's proprietary content and posted it for free on Grassy's. Whether you like Ferman's or hate him, I don't believe in theft, whether it's of intellectual or other property. I don't helieve in hate and I've seen too much of it over the years, whether it's of Ferman, Randy Shannon (who bled for us), Golden, etc. The hate is sick. So, you don't like a coach and want him gone...fine. But I don't find it so important to my life that ai'm going to hate. I've loved Canes football longer than many if you have been alive, but I'm not going to indulge this sickness of hating somebody who's trying his best to win at the U.

I've got too many other problems and issues in my life to get sick over Al Golden. I'm glad he's gone but I know he tried and did his best.

Decent history lesson, but Al Golden is an ******* of the highest degree. He ruined careers here and made things miserable for the players. I’ve got plenty of energy to hate Al Golden.

Mike Bakas also became an ******* over the years as his info dried up.

I don't know how he ruined careers or made players miserable. I'm not denying it, I'm just not familiar with the specifics of any such allegations. I don't know the specifics of Bakas' sources drying up or his alleged assholery. I only know of some of Mike's work in the late 90's or so.

I would not necessarily give much weight to Gary's bomb. He's trying to make a living in a competitive environment including against some who might have better information. I like him personally, haven't talked to him in over a decade, don't subscribe to his (or any pay) service but will not indulge in name-calling or hate. I don't find his latest "scoop" terribly persuasive. I'm not sure anybody knows much.

He become the librarian so he could go to school for free? WTF is wrong with that if it helps his son go to a private school with a great football team? I had two brothers who went to American Heritage Delray and guess what, they provided assistance for athletes. Nothing illegal there to justify your smear campaign against a good family.

You know what half the numbnuts can't stand to hear. Georgia is on the rise and just competed for a MNC. They reached a level that our current coach never did. You can talk about how he did it with players Richt recruited, the counter is Richt still never did it in a decade and some change. UGA is far different an environment than us, which some recruits take a liking to. I don't know what Campbell will do, but to simply say a bag is last as **** and a slap to a kid we want in this team.

Not really. They had the same exact finish Richt did in his second year at UGa. It’s just that there is a playoff now.

Exactly. Richt had the same season at least 3 times. UGA will drop off next year. Remains to be seen if Shart can run a program and specifically generate offense consistently

The only thing that worries me here...Is that when Ferman is wrong, it is usually because he predicts someone to UM that doesn't end up coming. When I used to be on canesport, when he dropped bad news...It was bad news.

you think RUmph is going to help him get the job if his son wasn't great at football? He got the job for football reasons. If his dad is willing to take that then he's willing to take a bag. Facts.
