2026 Favour Akih 4-Star RB from Ohio

On3 asked Akih if any other program is currently on Miami’s level in his recruitment.

“I would say USC but Miami is way over them for me right now!”

The Hurricanes are setting the pace.

“Yeah I’m not sure if things will change,” Akih added. “Miami 100 percent. “Go Canes!”

Seeing out of state kids talk about Miami like that is always such a trip lol Feels like it never happens with locals anymore.

Kid has nice feet/vision, runs downhill. Looks like he will top off at around 215 and be a punishing back. Would be a great addition.

I hope he stays another year but, Matt Merritt is legit... Might be the best X's and O's + Recruiter we got on staff

Buckeyes not in the mix?

In a recent 247 Buckeyes article they named 6 RB they are recruiting (3 were among the top 10 in nation)…He was one but the only one without an offer, but they said they are recruiting him and the offer definitely may happen.

Will be interesting if it does because he's about a half hour from Columbus.

I've said on many occasions recruit Ohio. These recruits do not have allegiance to Ohio State. Just like kids from Houston and Dallas don't have allegiance to A&M and UT. We aren't the only area where players want to leave. It's refreshing to see the staff actually believe in getting a big time Ohio recruit. I expect 2-3 Ohio kids in this class if we take the **** seriously there.

They've moved away from focusing on the state to a more national approach since Urban was the HC... Still interesting he hasn't been offered yet, but like @skeeter said, they are recruting other guys ahead of him and hes probably the back up plan.

I could be wrong but i feel like Kentucky recruits the state the best but i'm not too familair with it compared to the DMV area.
