I can’t believe we wasted the season cam had bro, i never felt more confident in a player week to week and even before the season. Soon as he signed i knew he would be a heisman candidate

On defense id say wes made a huge improvement and was one of our more consistent players on defense but **** got overshadowed by the other starting lb being terrible. Only god knows how Kiko and meesh got acc 2nd team and wes didn’t

Fletch, first and foremost.

Arroyo, Restrepo, obvious Cam.

I'll get back to you if i have any nominees on the defensive side of the ball

Damien Martinez will go down as one of the most underutilized Canes in recent memory.

Obvious answers are Cam Ward and X
I kind of get the feeling that’s a big reason why he transferred here. He didn’t want another 200 carry season. He’s not a sure fire early round draft pick. Things like wear and tear factor into which mid round running back you select.

That mysterious 2nd Q against Syracuse after we went up 21-0 really changed the dynamics of that game almost as much as the defense did. But still the D is the main reason we lost. If our offense would have had Martinez in there instead of Lyle and not gone in a shell for 4 straight drives maybe Restrepo's fumble wouldn't be as big of deal. I know you being one of the more knowledgeable posters on here knows this but I still am in shock from what went down last Sat. It was very devastating as a fan.

Damien Martinez for me. Was our best running back from day 1 and it wasn’t close. Did everything well and never seemed to lose yards. Absolutely crushed it on short yardage situations.

I guess because he wasn’t Willis McGahee or EJ, some of our fans rated him behind Fletch, Lyle, and Ajay Allen. No disrespect to any of those backs, but Martinez is head and shoulders better than them.

I completely understand our other backs spelling him from time to time, but not nearly as often as it occurred this year. That critical 4th and 1 against GT and the two series against Syracuse in the 2nd qtr where he was off the field will be my biggest “what ifs” for this year.
Martinez, it was criminal he wasn't use more. Wasted series 2nd quarter @ Syracuse, my opinion, Allen was our second best back. These coaches with personnel are head scratchers, just see Smith last year, getting less carries the Parrish, Chaney. Blows it up at SMU.

What about Baron at CB?
Between D'Onofrio and Guidry I've seen far too many lineman playing corner. Mesidor is by far my least favorite. Alston maybe the best.

Also, do other teams deal with this or is it some kind of sick joke being played on us?
