First Half Thoughts from a Layman:

Good:

1. Duke, obviously
2. Run defense looks much improved
3. Antonio Crawford
4. Coley route running/getting open (I'll get to drops below)
5. Kicking looks good
6. No false starts/offsides penalties (not counting kickoffs)
7. No formation/substitution issues requiring burning a timeout
8. Hurrycane getting serious press

Bad:

1. Drops - brutal
2. Late penalties (Perryman)
3. Crappy offensive play calling
4. QB getting some runs off
5. O-Line not as dominating as hoped

I agree with all of this except the criticism of the play calling. The play calling was fine. They just didn't execute (dropped passes and poor run blocking in short yardage situations). Otherwise they have moved the ball at will. Everything else you said was spot on though.

I suppose you're right. I was referring mostly to the screens to Hurns in the first few series. But overall, if balls not dropped, we back...

Outside of Duke, there really isn't much of an offense. James Coley looks pretty amateurish with his play calling. IMO

Also, I like Clements as our #2 RB, Crawford looked like absolute trash out there. There was a huge dropoff when he came in as opposed to Clements.

Defense looks better, just got to get off a bit faster and hit harder.
