Good lord, the absolute BULL**** that is spinning out of F$U fans and writers after this disastrous start.

1. They are "rebuilding". But...WHY? Rebuilding is something that happens (most commonly) in college football when you fire a failed coach. Or if you signed one really great recruiting class ONE TIME, then they all became seniors together, and now they are gone. Of course, this ignores two major realities of college football. First, you can sign a mini-team EVERY YEAR. If you hit the high school recruiting hard each-and-every-year, then there IS NO "rebuilding". Second, there is a thing called THE PORTAL now. And given the fact that F$U's 13-1 undefeated team was built on Portal players....well, here's an idea...SIGN MORE GOOD PORTAL PLAYERS. You don't need multiple years for Portal players to hit. Again...THERE IS NO REBUILDING YEAR FOR A COLLEGE COACH COMING OFF A 13-1 UNDEFEATED SEASON.

2. They are "bridging". But...TO WHAT? If this "bridge" theory was correct, then they have an AMAZING younger talent pool that is merely one year from dominating college football...AND they load up on 1-year Portal guys to hold them until that time...and we all know that BOTH of those elements are false.

3. The "cost" of everything. I have written about this previously. After finally getting back to a 13-1 undefeated season, largely by paying big NIL to Portal players, F$U suddenly decided to go cheap. In a variety of ways. First, rather than say "hey, what we just paid is the 'standard' budget, let's go spend it on new guys", they decided to try to spend LESS coming off of a 13-1 undefeated season. Second, they decided to SHAME their own underclassmen who, for right or wrong, felt that it was now their time to be compensated. So the F$U writers and fans spent the off-season telling the world "Sophomore Billy Bob wants to be paid $X, which is what we were playing Jared Verse, and he isn't worth it, and he hasn't earned it". Which, of course, is NOT how you build loyalty and love. Finally, when F$U had the CHANCE to go out and make lightning strike twice (by signing the newer version of Jared Verse out of the Portal), they decided to waste their time and money on guys who had glittering HIGH SCHOOL resumes, but had not yet produced at the collegiate level. All of those things are a veritable PERFECT STORM of stupidity and ignorance when it comes to getting bang for the NIL buck.

4. Hope is crushed. I've been DM'ing with a couple of posters, and one of them pointed out the CRIPPLING impact that Mario has had on Florida and F$U, as they chased and chased and chased recruits that they THOUGHT would pick them, only to have their hopes crushed when these kids picked Miami. And the seconardary impact of this is that when Prison Mike and Slingblade Billy suddenly had to fill spots, they got MUCH lesser talent (whether HS or Portal).

5. These head coaches are NOT as good as first claimed. I said it about Prison Mike right off the bat, that it was JUSTIN FUENTE who rebuilt Memphis. Ah, yes, but then the CIS He-Man Norvell-Lovers Club tried to tell me how "The Portal" had changed everything, and that Prison Mike had invented the GREATEST STRATEGERY EVER, the "Portal Method". And then I pointed out that Slingblade Billy's entire resume was propped up by Mario recruiting a batch of blue-chip SoFla WRs at Alabama. But but but, Slingblade Billy made magic happen at Louisiana, that's what I was told. Meanwhile, both Prison Mike and Slingblade Billy have hired and/or retained some truly questionable assistant coaches, and now it is looking like their "offensive playcalling genius" was a bit overstated too.

6. "Culture". Uhhh, yeahhhh, right. Both Prison Mike and Slingblade Billy have supposedly rebuilt the "culture" of their programs, and all of their players are high caliber kids who spend 25 hours a day, 8 days a week preparing for football. "C.L.I.M.B.". "Billy's Army". All of that stuff is being exposed as a load of hot bull****.

Don't let the F$U (or UiF) fans try to spin "good" reasons for the failures at both schools. The reality is that they signed under-talented players and are coaching them poorly as well.

No mystery there.

What FSU fans need to understand as I pointed out to a couple of friends who r FSU fans:

Sometimes the portal giveth prosperity, & sometimes the portal giveth ****. We’ve been victims of that in yrs past, & now FSU is.

Norvell hit w/ Travis, Verse, Johnson, Benson, Bell, Fiske, & several others. Unfortunately for them, he wasn’t supplementing those portal players w/ high value HS players (which I stand on is always the true blood line of a great program).

FSU stans need to understand they whiffed on the QB position. They went after a kid who’s no longer that 5* prodigy coming out of HS, he’s a 3* prospect at best. They whiffed on Darrell Jackson who continues to use his size (pause) to deceive programs into thinking he’s a difference maker. They whiffed on Jones Jr. who seems like a kid who peeked in HS.

This is not a rebuild; they r who they r. W/e Magic Mike worked on Jordan Travis ain’t working w/ DJU, & there’s not a team in America who’s threatened by him as a QB in the RPO game.

These are the thoughts after the eighth-count, and the cobwebs are still hanging off your brain cells. It’ll be a while before they shake them off. We’ve been through this process, 20 ****ing years of it and still building. Here’s to hoping they take their time…

They are in denial. They deny they were vastly over-rated last year. Anyone who watched their games knew they were very, very lucky to have finished with the record they had. Every bounce, every call, every opponent missed kick, every "good" team they played was having a down year, you name it. They could barely beat a Miami team that didn't have a QB. They were not very good, and Georgia showed the world that. Now, they bring back the same losers and quitters, but minus all the so called good players that left.

They are NOT a good team. They were not a very good team last year, either. Just lucky. Now, they are even less talented, and their luck has run out.

You can't build a powerhouse using the portal as your main source of talent. That has never worked and never will. Prime better wake up quick because he is not doing it correctly. The one guy that kind of made it work but never built a powerhouse team was Bill Snyder at Kansas State. But the belief that bringing in a new core of guys each year and hoping they hit is pure comedy. Even in the NBA, the so called super teams, more often then not do not work. The right way to do it is to build the team from the ground up based on high school recruiting and you supplement with portal players. This is how Saban did it, this is how Smart did it and this is what Cristobal is doing. I would trade this current Miami team with last years FSU team any day of the week. I want a team that is consistently good, not good once every 5 years.

1. Norvell can't recruit HS

2. To combat this, they've allocated more money to portal additions

3. Norvell and staff did a good job originally of identifying and acquiring both proven good players (Verse, Fiske, Coleman, Bell, Johnson, Deloach) and hitting on some good athletes who hadn't proven it at the college level (Benson, Wilson)

4. Those kids are gone, and they replaced them ALL with hopes and dreams. None of the kids they got are anywhere close to the Verse, Fiske etc list I have above. None of them. They're all backups with no film at big schools. So what happens when you think Marvin Jones Jr shows up and just replaces Jared Verse, even though MJ Jr. did NOTHING in 2 years at UGA?

5. You go 0-2 as two touchdown favorites, your season ends by Labor Day, you're the laughing stock of the country, and your program goes down in flames

FSU hasn't been that good since Norvell got there. Last year they had an easy schedule combined with an average, not great, team.

I’ll give credit where credit is due. The 2023-24 FSU Cinnamon Rolls finished w/ the 15th hardest SOS (*source: Teamrankings.com). Mike inherited a **** poor program & by year 3, got them to a respectable position. FSU’s Def last season was really, really good. They played a lot of complimentary football against a formidable schedule which led to that 13-0 reg. season.

However, this season is like what Emmanuel Acho eloquently said: Doesn’t matter how last season went (referring to the 2009 UT team & the 2023 FSU team), if the QB play is sus the following season (referring to the 2010 UT team & current 2024 FSU team), then the season will collapse.

I tend to rewatch our games along with teams who we face on the year’s games, multiple times. FSU’s def is not elite like last season, but in both games they gave the offense opportunities to score or seize control. DJU puts a lot of pressure on the defense to be perfect, & he’s failed; &, b/c this defense is no where near as good as last season, they wear down eventually becoming a straight liability as the game progresses.

Norvell totally missed the QB evaluation on this & it’s bit him in the *** this season. DJU has a very apathetic demeanor, completely contrary to his ****y, confident attitude from a couple of yrs ago, & it affects the team (eerily similar to TVD).

Two things can be true at the same time; I’m just happy we get an opportunity to ring up 50+ against them this season b/c unlike Moses parts the sea & Jesus walks on water for them, this season is Cinnamon Toast Crunch for them.

They lack quality depth (recruiting) and massively struck out in the portal this year. Given the exits of the 22/23 portal class, that's a brutal perfect storm for them. Logic would tell you nothing is going to change over the next couple years b/c of this.

Basically, Norvell is cooked.

Also, DJU was DJU in Game 1. Not terrible, but not good. As I told all my fsu boys all summer, he’s “painfully average”. He flat out stunk in Game 2.

HOWEVER — fsu has given up 453 yards rushing in 2 games. That ain’t DJ’s fault. He stinks, but so does the whole team. They replaced 2 backers with NFL talent with NOBODY. Randy and Mike can’t croot, and again, they took bums from Bama. Everyone there stinks. MJ Jr is not good, especially against the run. Jackson has been terrible. Payton isn’t an edge setter, that was Verse’s job. Again, they lost really good players, and there are no replacements because the recruiting has sucked and they didn’t hit multiple home runs in the portal. These people simply cannot comprehend that just because a kid is on the roster at Bama or UGA, it doesn’t mean he’s an all-conference ACC player. They got plenty of dead weight on those rosters too. And they actually have money, so they’re not letting you take their good players.

Fundamental problem is that Norvell is not a very good evaluator of talent and lacks leadership qualities as well. Without Travis he is "0" an empty suit. They BARELY beat BC in 2023 with Travis and their drafted players .... BC got better and FSU got worse ... in spite of Norvel's evaluation after Spring Practice ("might be the best FSU team I have ever seen ... we are bigger, faster, stronger"). Ouch.

It is still early. They will recover and still be our hardest game. DJU can't be any worse, and a few completions here and there and they are undefeated. But, as good as last season was for them, a few missed passes here and there last year and it is, as many have pointed out, a VERY different year.

Also getting ***-raped by UGa after crying for a month didn't really help get them kick started for this year.

I don't see the point in making this "analysis" right now, after the season has just started. Yes FSU doesn't look like they just reloaded and will be a championship contender, but plenty of teams in the past have started weak and finished strong and I see no reason to believe why FSU doesn't. If FSU piles another loss or two in the next month then maybe we can make definitive statements about how they have failed, but I still think there is a greater than 50% chance they end up with the same or more wins than we do.

23 schedule. Nothing to write home about

LSU good

Southern Miss trash

BC okay

Clem okay

VT trash

Syracuse trash

Duke okay

Wake trash

Pitt trash

U

North Alabama trash

Florida trash

UL okay

UGA
Mike inherited a **** poor program & by year 3, got them to a respectable position.

Mike took over a team that just got their dream coach from Oregon fired after Manny and Jarren curb stomped him.

Mike proceeded to also get curb stomped by Manny. Mike followed that up with another ****** year but this time Manny collapsed at the end.

22 FSU wasn't great. 23 he just got luckey a bunch. Yeah I guess they got national respect. You right

FSU’s Def last season was really, really good. They played a lot of complimentary football against a formidable schedule which led to that 13-0 reg. season.
That defense was Trash. I'm evaluating them against us and not those trash offenses (Riley Leonard is trash) their D padded their stats with.
Norvell totally missed the QB evaluation on this & it’s bit him in the *** this season. DJU has a very apathetic demeanor, completely contrary to his ****y, confident attitude from a couple of yrs ago, & it affects the team (eerily similar to TVD).

His Demeanor doesn't mean squat. His play is trash. TVD could at least move the ball. DJU is closer to Jake Garcia. Except Jake can win a game with his legs.

Mike is a good business man and FSU board, President, and especially the fans are just stupid. Next level stupid.

To sum up

Based on the last couple seasons, the Noles demanded more money from the ACC. They said, “Hey! $€¢ makes money! Give us some of THAT money!”

They have been pitching a fit for over a year!

Hey, Noles! STFU!!
