Ezzard

Except Galloway had one of the fastest 40 times of all time.

@DMoney has been using the Jarvis Landry comparison

Just in terms of attitude and style.

In terms of size, he's closer to Anquan Boldin.

For me, his size, speed and overall game reminds of this guy...

Galloway was also smaller.

Hmm. Interesting. Joey might be a blazer in a straight line. But his film looks like he does just enough. Like Ezzard, not tall. Not short. Enough football speed. Doesn't look like he has great separation or breakaway when running a vert route and just fights like **** for the ball. And when he gets the ball. Is trying to make something happen. Even if it is 5 yards. Its 5 hard yards. That is all i meant with my novice assessment.

after this season
AR- jr gone
CAGER- rs jr gone
THOMAS- so
HARLEY- so
HARRIS- sr gone
LANGHAM- sr gone
NJOKU- rs fr

POPE- fr
WIGGINS-fr
HIGHTOWER-fr
EZZARD-fr

2019 is looking at a depth chart of
THOMAS
HARLEY
NJOKU
POPE
WIGGINS
HIGHTOWER

maybe
EZZARD
CAGER

If you're a top receiver in your class this is scaring you away?
Cager is not leaving early

i think he puts together a good season without injury he will leave even with a year left because he will have his degree and be fully over the injury. not worth the risk imo

why do we need so many WRs? those numbers should be going exclusively to the DL and OL.

Uh, right. Maybe some of these guys can play DT.
Well we go 5 wide sometimes so would make sense to have at least 9 wr and a backup at each position

We have 2 DT at all times. 6-7 on roster is more than enough

I agree with you, 407. I was just being sarcastic when I suggested DT....I've been around long enough to remember when we rarely played more than 3-4 DTs in a game. During some of our best years in the late '80's, there was very little depth at DT. When we lost The Magnificent Sileo before the start of the 1987 season because of the *****-up in his coursework at the U-MD and resultant eligibility at UM, we had to move little Greg Mark (238 lbs.) inside and had him play the entire season at DT, along with the late Derwin Jones. After that, there wasn't much...a freshman Russell Maryland (I think he was a freshman), Earnie Parrish, I don't remember who else. We really didn't have much depth. In fact, we would have been in pretty bad shape at DT. Unless someone can remind me who else could play that position.

We are in a much better situation at DT depth right now despite all the discussion on this board. We probably have more capable guys we can plug in who can play. That is not to say it is enough, given the better quality of our opposition. The teams we beat for NC's or to get to the NC games in the '80's and early '90's are nothing like the teams we're facing now. Oklahoma and ND were one-dimensional and they were nowhere near the quality of the Bama's and Clemson's out there now.

So, we did have an issue, I guess with depth at WR this year, after we lost Ahmmon. When you get down to Dayall Harris, Langham, and Cager, there is no argument that they are elite. They are capable but we can longer go to the top with just ordinary, we need elite everywhere.

On the other hand, Valid does have a point to be concerned about DT. The loss of Norton and McIntosh is absolutely huge unless and until Willis and somebody else can prove they are as good. In fact, I think it could be a serious setback...maybe we'll know more after the spring. We really need to get maybe three very promising DTs plus a JUCO...or a graduate transfer. (Although graduate transfers are often ordinary, that's why they are still around.)

I agree, maybe 6-7 is enough if there is quality depth and not ordinary guys in that 6-7.

Joey Galloway? no one who saw him play can make that comparison. kid is more jj stokes than joey galloway

Ezzard and Hightower are going to be key pieces for our team moving the chains. Although they have different styles I think they will help in the same areas. Which happen to be our problem areas. Third down O and Red zone O. Can't wait to see these kids play.

Yea we just have to play them in the red zone and not our shortest WRs lineup like we did some time last season

Langham and Harris are seniors. Not transferring unless they go where they can play right away or if they are grad transfers.
