Explanation from Coach D

Why wouldn't you make the adjustment and put 11 guys in the box as they did not pass the entire 2nd half, mind boggling.

Are you serious? First, not even Buddy Ryan puts 11 in the box. If we did, they would have obviously thrown the ball.

The point is he made no adjustments to an offense that did not throw the ball the entire 2nd half and allowed 34 1st downs, incomprehensible.

Well, if you actually watch the game, you would see that we did change the defense up, move the safeties closer to the line and run blitz a lot. None of it worked, I will give you that.

Golden pulls out all the excuses for Mark too. Blaming the offenses lack of 1st downs in 3rd quarter as not helping the defense out. Ummm the offense got the ball for the 2nd time in the 3rd quarter with 2:30 left. lulz

He is right.
I remember seeing Kane not contain the edge when a ND RB, The white one, popped it outside for a big gain.
You have VT not sealing the outside on the Atkinson run for a TD.
You have Eddie Johnson still lost in pass coverage.

The issue could very well be D'onforio's defense being to complex for these young guys to grasp and only time and repetition will be what it takes for them to finally get it.

And make no mistake it's about the future. Why else would Terry and McCord be getting major minutes in the second half in this game?

If by next year you don't see major improvements I'll be all in. But now I'm trusting the process.

I'm trying to take this stance as well, it's very difficult when you see no adjustment from the DC though.

Jethro Franklin on the other hand may be shown the door with the way the DL is playing. Where's that Palermo dude at these days? He's the last DL coach we had that was worth a ****.

If Golden doesn't fire him, he'll get Golden fired.

Right.

About to go on probation. Fire a coach that was at least mislead about the Shapiro situation.

Had a tough enough time getting a coach the past 3 times. If we did that to Golden we would be lucky to hire someone like Kehoe as head coach.

Golden not leaving in the next 3 years other than by his own choice.

Perfect response. Lol at anyone thinking Miami has the luxury of firing Golden.

The issue isn't the occasional 50 yard breakdown. The issue is the 5 yards up the middle on every run between the tackles, which has nothing to do with secondary.

And managed to hold on to the ball for 56 seconds after holding on to it 2:17 on their first possession of the 3rd which was actually the 4th longest drive they had. The offense is the strength (or at least lesser weakness) of the team; they need to do everything they can to help the defense. We all know the defense is terrible, but when the offense doesn't help them at all, it only magnifies the problem. This became pretty evident when we obviously gave up on offense and starting calling plays to run the clock as opposed to win the game.

What is the media down there saying him?

thats because he is obviously lost. we have seen this movie several times in the last 10 years and his results are the worst of any of them

just ask yourself this:

what do you think realistically his ceiling is as a DC? if he is dead last @ miami (even though it is a young thin defense), I would say that middle of the pack is near his ceiling. that is not acceptable

Too complex? Are you serious? Corners that don't cover, DL that don't rush the passer or shed blocks, LB's that whiff in space? That is systematic failure across the board. Shall we simplify by saying " Kill the man with the ball"?

IMO, he has nothing to lose from this point on. Play press coverage. Send the house more often than not. Start blizting on run downs. What's the worst that could happen? We could drop to 119th in D. I'd rather go down with an effort instead of letting other teams just pick us apart so easily. Time to let these young'ns loose. Unleash the beast. VinnSanity to be declared.
