once folks really let set in how bad the talent was here for the last 8 or so years...this makes perfect sense..

we settled in on 3 star players hoping inexperienced coaches could make them compete etc....

we are still a couple of years away from ELITE talent at crucial positions...but the voids are getting filled..

oh, I agree
we believed with the green and orange glasses, that our players were better than they were
perfect is Curtis Porter
three years later, the first round talent moniker died a horrible death
let's hope that Al is better at this than Larry and Randy were

well so this does not turn into ONE of those threads.....Al has a lot of work to do this year..

sorry for hijacking your thread...thanks for posting

np
it was just for a outsider's look in at our graduating talent
it puts the limelight on the lack of quality talent (high level game changers)
we have great kids, and I like to believe a staff that will get better
but - the talent level needs a quick, explosive overhaul
now, with my OandG glasses on - I believe the last two classes start to give this to us

People want to say its coaching but when you lose 3 senior lineman and 2 starting linebackers and rotational safeties and not 1 are ranked in top 10. no matter the scheme or record. NFL can still see talent. this just tell you how bad we were. the only 2 people worth a draft spot came back in denzel and chick on the defense.

i got absolutely chewed out before the football season for laughing at all of you who thought Morris would go before the 4th round. There were people talking him going in the top 2 rounds. Got reamed for it.

I'm not completely disagreeing with you, however, Henderson was no 3 star talent. He was an elite recruit that we were lucky enough to land due to the sanctions at USC. His mentality kept him from developing that elite talent into a 1st rd draft pick.

As far as Linder goes, he was a high 4 star recruit and I don't know what happened there. I thought he would have had a much higher draft stock. I don't know if it was coaching that didn't fully develop him, or my "green and orange glasses" that thought he would be much higher.

I'm riding with my boy Soldinger. He knows that the talent hasn't been there, but it's time to see something special from the last class or 2.

Whoever gets Linder is getting a steal, I really think this guy will have a darn good career in the NFL.

yea I think we are all disappointed in Seantrel including Seantrel.......I think the coaches just gave up and moved on trying to get him prepared for gameday etc...when all he wanted was the NFL draft to come along...Linder is probably just a Miami thing, teams just dont look to here for Olineman...he will make money in the nfl...

Thanks

Never claimed our talent level is great but we have had worse senior classes and still haven't fielded a defense as bad as the one we have now. I think an average defense coach has us at least in the top 50 defensively. The lack of NFL prospects still says the player development is still a problem here.

Yup, I was also on that side of the debate. Some people on here had him going for Bridgewater LOL

In all fairness hind sight is 20/20... You look at Morris Junior year statistically and it was a very good year. The high probability would be for him to continue to improve. He didn't and regressed badly. He got a lot of pre-season hype too... Why? Because several others logically assumed the same thing. Boy bit the pillow for sure!

Thats the thing. People were looking at his year statistically. Specifically the last 4 games when he played pretty good (against the worst 4 game stretch of competition). But i was watching instead. I called out his lack of awareness, inability to read and react to defenses, poor progression, sloppy footwork and pure negligence when it comes to throwing the deep ball. All this hype talk was after he won that MVP at the Manning Passing Academy or whatever. I said who cares etc.
Was negged into bolivia.

Linder is going to be a good pro. Not all 4 star recruits can say that.

Lack of talent + Lack of development = No NFL draftees

We aren't getting across the board development of our players.

Who else should be drafted? Lol, Seantrel is draftable because he is huge and he at least was good enough to start. Pat is a freak as a punter. Shayon, could have, but he had too many injuries. AJ and Rodgers........moving on. Hurns, very unfortunate that there is an embarrassment of talent in the WR class. Morris, too inconsistent...That is all that we really can say.
