It's pretty sad. Basically she got assaulted, reported it to the police, did everything right. The cops just basically took Winston's word over hers and all the witnesses and everyone in the city backed Winston due to his status. Sad.

The witnesses who gave the statements were Chris Casher and Ronald Darby.

What about the cab companies/drivers that didn't respond to requests for statements of drivers who were working that night.

Report also says she had bruising, fresh ones that appeared over time in the days after the incident. The fact this didn't go to trial is absurd. Only reason it did not is because of Winston's status.

No, she isn't. If she were, the situation would've never gotten to this stage. They investigation was killed because she backed out, which is the way it would've gone down had she gotten cash. She's really in a tough spot at this point. She was assaulted and her reputation is destroyed because it's getting swept under the rug. She's going to have to move somewhere else and start over.

That was my first reaction also.
Since then, after reading more details, it seems the young lady and her family have stated that they are unhappy with the findings. So either she didn't get paid or there is a cover up. The investigators claim the girl has lapses in recollection of the events of the evening after 5 or 6 shots and who knows what else.
We'll see if this story gets legs or dies in Talahassee.
