ESPN launching a 24 hour "SEC" Network

What took them so long? Now they need to take all the $EC blowhards (Palmer, Pollard, Reece Davis, etc.) stick them on there, and don't let them out. Tired of them clogging up the airways.

And we wonder why they aren't allowed to be punished for cheating? Bc it would cost ESPN money. ESPN now has a monetary interest in propping them up. Disgraceful.

ACC basketball needs to gtfo that network. Wednesday night ACC should be a national broadcast on a major network, and the ACC tourney as well.

SEC and the business interests that have made them invincible have ruined college football for everyone else. It's sad.

Imagine if the NFC East had its own TV deal and unlimited budgets as a result?

As if the SEC needed anymore "recruiting tools".

Saban: "Come play for Alabama, and you'll have your own TV show for 3-4 years."

I thought that's what Espn , Espn 2 and Espn U was

Took the words right out of my mouth.

The ACC really needs F$U, Clemson, VT, and us to be consistent top 25 teams.

Hard to be an elite team in today's game when one conference not only is allowed to break the rules no consequence, but also is then lauded by the media as being the best. It's like payola.

To be the devils advocate, Texas has its own TV Station...and they haven't had a good team since Colt McCoy

What's going to be great is when ESPN dumps all this money into the SEC and teams like Bama and LSU start to fall off. Lets face it, do you guys really think Saban will be at Bama for another 10 years. I'd be surprised if he's there for another two years. Look at his track history. When they flop so does ESPN.

Sadly, ESPN has forever altered the landscape of college football with their deal with the SEC.
No one will ever be able to compete with them due to the constant publicity and harping on SEC teams, deserved or not.
Does anyone really believe that an SEC school will ever get sub-standard treatment again?
Their teams will always be touted as the benchmark in what ever sport season it is. They'll dominate the rankings and public perception, the SEC is in ESPN's pocket and will always be protected.

They're already on TV all the time anyway. What difference will this make?

Vanderbilt and Tennessee will be on TV more now?

True, it's more about how the SEC will be perceived. ESPN will go out of their way, even more so, to protect and tout their interest.

I have been saying this for years. ESPN has a financial interest in the SEC being successful. The ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll is 1/3 of the equation of who plays for the national championship. Another 1/3 of puzzle is media voters and ESPN is the Microsoft of sports media with their market share, presence, and influence. So ESPN is in all ways operating with a conflict of interest but no one can call them on it because the NCAA is crooked and they are the only ones in a position to do something about it (but why would they, when it hurts their bottom line?).

No but they will hire another big time coach. I hate to break to everyone but it is really easy to sustain success when you have a well oiled machine in place working.

When you have a yeast infection and dump acid on it for 7 straight years (2004-2010) it isn't so easy to fix or move anywhere in the right direction.
