ESPN laughing at Mario

Choice quotes:

- "It's tough to say how many days it had been since Cristobal properly handled a late-game scenario since you can't divide by zero."

- "That left Cristobal with a decision: Put the game in the hands of the best quarterback to ever wear a Miami uniform or, with 3:42 remaining, kick a field goal and leave it up to your defense that has served as a maître d' for Syracuse receivers the entire game.
Cristobal chose pain."

Reality sucks
truth hurts, analytics seems like Mario was not watching the game..... take the ball out of Cams hands and give to a defense that has not made plays all year.
who was not clowning Mario ????

It's a fact. A complete choice of ignorance and no understanding of the game. At this point he already has a rep. He can only coach his way out of it these next 2 seasons or that ride will be over for him. I will never trust his decisions with a game on the line. Sad to say!
This year was to be that year.

Mario Cristobal is incompetent. It is what it is.
very good recruiter, good program/culture builder, game day HC one of the worst i have ever seen. game prep not very good either however we will have talent and will stay in that 7-9 wins type seasons for his tenure.
not a huge fan but we need him to have success as flipping HC's every couple of years is a recipe for mediocrity

im fully done w Mario. it was a win a conference type year with how good cam was. we didnt even get close in the end. we were smoked by tech and Cuse
tough loss, i will never trust his game day acumen, to many consistent head scratcher decision.take the ball away form Cam and turn it over to a D that has not stopped Cuse all day........

what kind of pl

What kind of play were they going to run that was 3 minutes long?

If we did score, could have gone for 2

…and Syracuse still marches downfield and wins 45-43, as shown by how they were running the ball down Miami’s throat on their final drive when the Canes knew they were running.

This board is hilarious after a loss; outside a 4th-and-Goal from the ten being a gimme, now a two-point conversion is one as well?

The same meltdown over the field goal is the same as going on fourth down and not converting—and worse if Miami scores, goes for two and doesn’t convert.

Miami was outscored 42-14 going into the decision to kick—the defense again abysmal, while the offense went into a hole after a 21-0 lead.

This game was lost when the offense went to sleep and when the Restrepo fumble was a 14-point swing.

Hey, I AGREE with people saying we would likely have lost anyway. I'm quite sure we don't get the ball back either way. But I look at it this way: I'd rather not get the ball back being tied or even up one (yes, we had to take a chance on converting a 4th and ten) than not get the ball trailing by 4.

What evidence do you have that he builds good programs? This team is in the 100s in penalties. Oregon already had a solid infrastructure in place thanks to Nike and Phil Knight. He was 20 games under .500 at FIU. In really examining Cristobal's record, is he truly elite at program building? He is a very good recruiter though.

FIU was a true dumpster fire when he took over and he got them to a bowl game yes, pizza bowl not huge bowl but for FIU was record breaking
at oregon although the program was good to very good he started pulling in 4-5* talent and took them to next level..... beating MSU in a bowl, won the Pac 12 then the Rose Bowl. to me this qualifies as good, not great but good....... very good recruiter, not elite like say Urban meyer or Nick Saban or even Bobby Bowden but very good
game day decisions are where he gets a poor marks as well as game prep.
not to compare but Denis Erikson was awesome at game prep and in game strategy
but could not recruit....... hey whether we like it or not we are going to have to ride with him.........

ACC Network will get their jabs in on Monday. They are pro North Carolina schools and Clemson.
the old tobacco road mafia will never let go of the old days and still think the original
group, NC, Duke, Wake, has a lot of sway in conference

The forecast on CIS today is salty with a likely chance of irrationality. Leading to such behavior as equating ESPN pundit opinion as "journalism" when in any other circumstance ESPN opinion is given no regard or respect whatsoever and wishing the firing of a coach after a 10 win season.

The forecast later in the week is return to orange and green homerism with deep analysis for every which way the Canes can get into the playoff.

Culture????

The culture that allows a troglodyte like George continue to start games with his antics every single game? The culture where said player really ****ed Miami yesterday?

Delusion at its ******* finest.

Yeah. Definitely not putting this one in the Mario Stupid Decision Hall of Fame. The truth is we were screwed the moment X fumbled, and we were playing from behind needing a stop.
At the half, I was saying all we need is our D to force 2 more punts and we got this.
Then they go TD, TD, Fumble, TD, game sealing drive, smh.
