I guess my thought is that the kid's statement (that you quoted) isnt really worthy of the headline of that article. I dont see that as "throwing shade." As you noted, its just an honest assessment of the kid's value in the marketplace. That writer needs his ad revenue clicks, I guess.

Simply horrible, as a black person we are not doing enough, we are not critical enough of the culture, where violence among each other is such a normal thing. It makes me sick. And when its highlighted, people make excuses and become sensitive. And let me tell you something else. Its not about poverty either or countries in Africa like Ghana wouldnt be in the top 40 safest countries in the world. Its culture and mindset. That goes for my native like Jamaica, Trinidad, Mexico, Guatemala and Cities all across america. Gangsterism and street rules took over. Im tired of it.
