This is only an issue for the elite teams that have tighter rosters with many elite kids to pick from. No chance Miami and others like us are turning down a top 200 kid. We simply will force out more kids if we need to.

So it actually helps coaches in a sense grab a player from the portal then put one in there for balance. Or sign a hs kid then send whatever player currently on the roster at same position in there.

It is all about having 85 of the best kids on ship. If you can grab an elite top 200 kid from HS then you take him. Being realistic, we aren’t going to land 35 top 200 kids. We also want to upgrade with some older/developed kids that can start or push starters. Example: MLB needs upgraded(notice how Flagg went out and our D stopped clempson for two quarters.

Thus, we take elite kids from either the portal or HS and push out 25-30 kids that will never ever start at Miami. Yes, we have at least 30 non start material on the roster plus 10 seniors.
