Official Ernest Udeh (Commits, 4.4)

Good fit with Reneau and Donaldson.

Udeh likely will be primarily setting screens, running PnR with Donaldson, and crashing the boards on offense. That frees up Reneau to operate in the low post.

His offensive game is pretty much just being a lob threat. I wouldn’t expect much more than that. TCU as a team was also pretty abysmal offensively.
Thanks.

Not a ton of scoring among the Udeh/Reneau/Donaldson trio. Need a couple players who can really fill it up from the perimeter.

Donaldson can light it up from deep, he’s a pretty elite catch and shoot guy. If we could get a wing that can shoot and preferably a bigger guard that can be the primary handler and is better in PnR I’d feel okay about the starting 5. I don’t love the Reneau/Udeh fit but it is what it is.

Donaldson is apparently streaky with his outside shot. He looked good in the Michigan games I saw but their fans seem to be of two minds about him. Lack of consistency, again, being the complaint.

I’d be curious how much of that is shot selection, need to dig into the games he shot poorly to see if anything stands out. He took a ton of off the dribble, above the break 3s. And deep ones. Rarely took corner 3s. The catch and shoot numbers are really good, so I’m hoping we play him more off ball and get him more spot up opportunities.

Not sure what they're complaining about. He shot just under 38% from three

In reading multiple Michigan posts, the inconsistent outside shooting got its mentions but the main complaint by far was him being a "turnover machine" and "not a PG."

They see Eliot Cadeau coming in from UNC as a def upgrade for them in terms of his court vision, ball security, and distributing the rock.

If Cadeau ever shoots 38% from three, I'll be surprised.
