Emory Williams

Is he content on being a backup and get a degree ? Or is he a portal candidate?

Unless he already has his degree, he can't enter the portal until the spring window.

But considering this portal era of college football, the tape he's put out there, and the QBs coming in this year and next, I'd expect him to move on in the spring.

He would have zero P4 interest in the portal. I imagine he’s content with being a backup who can compete for job again in 25 assuming nickel doesn’t pass him…. If that happens he’s off to a very low tier school. My guess is FCS level but I’m not that confident he would even land at that level as a sure fire starter.

Unless he’s content being a back up, he’s hitting the portal. The vast majority of the time if you’re not starting by year three, you ain’t starting, and no one thinks he’s beating out Luke after next season.

At some point you just want to get on the field and play... It's fairly obvious Emory won't play here so it would be in his best interest to go somewhere where he can get on the field and play..... Remember N'kosi?? It became clear he wasn't gonna play here so he goes to FAU and gets two full seasons as a starting QB under his belt...

man i thought this post was that he hit the portal
why you have to tease me like that
was hoping for even more good news

No reason to go anywhere right now. First of all, he can’t. Secondly, Beck isn’t playing in the spring. He’ll get all the reps he can handle and if he beats out Luke and Judd for the lead spot, he’s a twisted ankle away from starting here. No guarantee Beck comes back 100% healthy either. He’d be smart to keep working and try to prove in the spring that what we saw in the bowl isn’t who he really is.

What about what we saw in high school and his freshmen year?

His freshman year? You mean when he put his life on the line trying to win a game against our rival and single handedly beat Clemson with one of the ballsiest performances you’ll see?

Sure, guy.
