Emmert on ESPN

I like the line about University Presidents ultimately being responsible for all student athletes on campus but yet he CONSTANTLY denies any responsibility in his own establishment.

So he's responsible for al the crimes by UW athletes from 2004-2010?

Iocane powder in his glass of water, on the podium at the 2:30 conference. I can dream can't I?

But it's so simple. All I have to do is divine from what I know of you: are you the sort of man who would put the poison into his own goblet or his enemy's? Now, a clever man would put the poison into his own goblet, because he would know that only a great fool would reach for what he was given. I am not a great fool, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you. But you must have known I was not a great fool, you would have counted on it, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me.

Not nearly enough Princess Bride quotes in this here forum.

His press conference is live on ESPN News right now. Reporters asking questions.

Mark Emmert's Final Four press conference: A disaster, in tweets:

It seems that everyone in the press is on the same page when it comes to Emmert

In response to Dennis Dodd, who wrote Emmert should be out, "By the way, thanks for the career advice. Kept my job anyway."

Emmert on USA Today story: "I’m very proud of my record every place I’ve been."

and he dont give a fucckkkkkk! he's just looking at the press and saying "and what *******? I aint goin nowhere"

Emmert is getting SLAUGHTERED by the media after that press conference. Gotta think his days are numbered.

Donna should keep his head on a stake in front of the Hecht Center.

If the charges are filed already, how can they still be investigating? Got nothing. If you look far enough up the ******, you are going to find ****.

He may have sealed his fate with that performance. Even though the Board of Directors or Trustees or whoever, endorsed him wholeheartedly, he's become a liability. That's what gets you booted.

Just read them tweets from the SBNation article.

Holy ****. How much longer can he last?

They said on SportsCenter that Emmert will have a press conference from Atlanta at 2:30 and they will be airing it.

stick a fork in him. he's done.

not a straight answer to any question put to him by ESPN.

the interview asked Emmert about the propriety of "dangling cash" (and impliedly a job) in front of a bankrupt (convicted for) lying criminal and whether that act tainted the investigation. (the interview did not ask about having actually given shapiro money!)

Emmert didn't (have the balls to) say "yeah, that stinks that's why the guy got fired!"

this means: 1) naijar (sp?) didn't get fired for that (but for sure we're gonna find out later "why");

2) najair (sp?) i bet, has got a significant something direct on Emmert that Najir (sp?) has not used yet, and most fun;

3) Emmert can't say "it stinks" because in some way, and we'll find out, he either directly sponsored this type of investigative of method, was aware of this type of behavior by his investigators and didn't stop them, or should have been aware of it. (these three alternatives represent the universe of possibilities.) Any one of these will get hime fired. Any one of them.

So let me be the first to say "buh bye Mark, and do let the door hit you in the ***!)

Shoulda settled this thing.

Today Emmert, tomorrow the NCAA.

When Emmert was announced as the new president of the ncaa, he said in his inaugural speech that he intended to be a proactive enforcer of the rules and go after the big dogs. Since then, HIS staff has gone after USC, Penn State, Georgia Tech, UNC and Miami. They are about to get pounded in court over their "get them at any cost" enforcement philosophy during the USC, PSU, Buffalo and Miami investigations. We are only seeing the beginning of major legal problems for the ncaa (national colleges against athletes).

Emmert just said that "if the Auburn allegations are true we will deal with it." What exactly does that mean? If your an Auburn fan you have to be asking should there not be due process before they get dealt with. For a Miami fan this could mean Emmert openly acknowledging that the SEC can do no wrong and until someone comes forth with solid information the NCAA will look the other way. This guy is a politician's politician.
