2026 Elijah Griffin 5* DT from Savannah, GA V2.0 commits to UGA

I can totally see it when your the in state school and have won a few chips in the last few years. They’re a dt factory right now and can also get their pick of the litter nationally.
You also have to realize that it’s likely that his entire hometown roots for uga.

Yet Gevon Dexter of the Bears is out playing both those DT’s. They have produced 1st rounders no doubt, but if you got it. You got it DOESNT matter where you go. I mean we have produced some YELLOW JACKETS at DT over the years. Have they?

Facts never beat perception and clout.
Karlaftis (a UM legacy) won a superbowl and went to Purdue.
Most kids want that money that status and the prestige that comes with the school they pick.
Khalil Mack went to Buffalo and was the number 5 overall pick.

Very few say “I’m good enough to make the league regardless of where I go”
Instead they hear “SEC SEC SEC” and they see uga shirts and stickers every time they even look out the window.
Not saying he won’t pick us. But it would be a monumental accomplishment.

Savannah is a mixture of Clemson and FSU fans more so than Georgia. They aren’t that big of players in Savannah. You could be right he did. But I just don’t see Kirby doing that.

That’s the school people should be concerned about. Cause if Texas gets rolling it will be bad for everyone else. That’s why I hope A&M can get it together
 
This is why I hope Texas beats UGA and and they lose 1 other game though I’m not sure which game ( maybe Texas again in the SEC championship game )…with two losses they are probably still getting in to the CFP but with 3 I don’t think that’s happening.
Maybe the shine will go off that new car a little if they miss the CFP 2 years in a row…just a thought.
